We had the good fortune of connecting with Andreina Haiek and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Andreina, why did you pursue a creative career?
Like many people, I was unsure about what to study when I was younger. I considered various paths—becoming a preschool teacher because I enjoyed working with kids and doing arts and crafts, or perhaps pursuing an administrative role given my love for organization and planning. In the end, I chose to study Business Administration, which, as it turned out, was quite different from a creative career, but it gave me tools and experience for what I’m doing now as a business owner.

For over 18 years, I worked in that area, but it wasn’t until the pandemic in 2020 that I rediscovered my passion for Interior Design. Spending more time at home, led me to revisit something I’d always loved but never fully acknowledged as a career possibility. I found joy redecorating my spaces, remodeling my bathrooms, indulging in home decor and organization TV shows and doing online courses. It was clear that design had been a natural skill of mine since I was young, even if I hadn’t realized it at the time. What was once a hobby slowly evolved into a dream career. My creativity, love for art and crafts, and knack for organization all came together, sparking the idea of starting my own interior design business and since then I have been studying and learning on the way.

Now, four years later, as an entrepreneur in interior design and home organization, I see this as a second career that has brought me immense joy and fulfillment. I believe it’s never too late to pursue what you’re passionate about and what makes you happy. Each project is a unique opportunity to channel my creativity and dedication into creating beautiful, personalized spaces. Transforming homes and making people happy through my work is truly rewarding, and I’m excited about every project I undertake. One home transformation at a time, I’m living my dream and loving every moment of it.

Being an entrepreneur comes with many challenges. For me, leaving a long-term administrative career to start my own interior design business as a Venezuelan immigrant in South Florida was an incredibly brave yet challenging decision. Just two years ago, I was not only building my business but also raising a family and adapting to a new culture. Managing these significant life changes at once brought its own share of anxiety, but I remained determined to pursue my passion for interior design, no matter the obstacles. The fear of failure was always present, but I’ve learned to embrace discomfort as a necessary part of the journey toward doing what I truly love. Through optimism and resilience, I’ve overcome moments of self-doubt.

Being both an entrepreneur and a mother requires immense effort. Juggling various responsibilities, managing time, dealing with an unpredictable income, and constantly promoting myself demands strength and organization. Yet, despite the challenges, I now embrace the daily demands of running my own business. I’ve found the courage to do work that truly fulfills me and aligns with who I am. In my view, success is largely about mindset—believing in ourselves, trusting our potential, and staying consistent and perseverant. A phrase I read years ago, “Do what you love, love what you do,” has guided me and pushed me to where I am today.

As for my business, I offer a unique blend of interior design and professional organization service – a rare combination in the industry. I focus on transforming residential spaces, whether through small-scale remodels or by refreshing and optimizing specific areas. Also I offer in-home interior design consultations and interior design services for rental properties unlocking their potential for faster occupation.

What truly sets my service apart is the personalized, high-end experience I provide. I manage every detail personally from start to finish, ensuring the process is easy and comfortable for my clients. This one-on-one attention guarantees that each aspect of the project is executed with precision and care, resulting in a beautiful and functional space.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
South Florida offers an incredible variety of experiences. Whether you’re seeking a relaxing escape, vibrant nightlife, art and culture, or outdoor adventures, there’s something for everyone. Here are a few of my favorite spots and things to do that I always recommend to friends when they visit:

The Florida Keys: Every Key is beautiful, but I suggest starting with Key Largo. Stay at Baker’s Cay Resort, part of the Curio Collection by Hilton, for a serene weekend getaway. For a delicious meal, stop by Mrs. Mac’s Kitchen for fantastic seafood and a slice of their famous Key Lime Pie.

Las Olas Boulevard, Fort Lauderdale: Spend the day on Fort Lauderdale Beach, and in the evening, explore the many great restaurants along Las Olas Boulevard for dinner. It’s a perfect blend of relaxation and lively atmosphere.

Miami Beach Boardwalk: Rent a bike and cruise along the Miami Beach Boardwalk, enjoying the views of the ocean and the energetic vibe of South Beach.

Everglades Adventure: If you’re in the mood for an adventure, head to the Everglades and take an airboat tour. It’s a fantastic way to experience the region’s wildlife and unique landscape.

Wynwood Walls & Cultural Experiences: For art and culture lovers, don’t miss the vibrant street art at Wynwood Walls, one of Miami’s most iconic outdoor art spaces. For contemporary art with stunning waterfront views, visit the Perez Art Museum Miami (PAMM).

Bayside Marketplace & Skyview Miami: While in Miami, visit Bayside Marketplace and take a ride on the Skyview Miami observation wheel for incredible views of the city.

Nightlife: For an unforgettable night out, explore the bustling nightlife of Downtown Miami or South beach. Dance the night away at one of the many nightclubs and enjoy the fantastic dining scene, with restaurants offering world-class cuisine.

Shopping at Sawgrass Mills: If you love shopping, don’t miss Sawgrass Mills Mall, one of the largest outlets in South Florida, where you can find great discounts on everything from designer brands to everyday essentials.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
Deciding to leave a stable, long-term job and step into the world of entrepreneurship was one of the biggest decisions of my life. I could not have done it without the support and love of my dear husband, who encouraged me to pursue my dreams and invest my time in what truly brings me happiness. I’m deeply grateful to God and the universe for guiding me into this new chapter, which has brought immense fulfillment, growth, and the joy of stepping beyond my comfort zone. I’ve learned that embracing the unknown can be one of the best ways to evolve, both personally and professionally.

This journey has been one of self-discovery and realization, and along the way, I’ve been blessed with incredible mentors, teachers, and colleagues who’ve generously shared their wisdom and advice. Over the past four years, their guidance has been invaluable as I navigated the path of entrepreneurship. I also owe a huge thank you to my friends and family for their constant support, and to my wonderful clients. Each project I’ve undertaken with them has been a learning experience, allowing me to grow and refine my craft.

So, I dedicate this interview to all of the mentioned above. Each one has played a special role in shaping where I am today, and I’m truly thankful for that.
