Meet Andy Smith | Creative Director of SheKnowsApparel

We had the good fortune of connecting with Andy Smith and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Andy, how do you define success?
In my own words , success is setting up personal goals for yourself regardless of whatever everyone else is doing around you and finding a way to reach these milestones no matter how long it may take you . People often try to judge their sucess based off people around them and I believe that’s the wrong approach . Everyone’s journey to the top is different so as long as you’re trying your best to be the best , success is sure to follow afterwards .

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
Just to introduce my brand a little more , I’m a creative director of a clothing SheKnowsApparel which focuses on the message of loving loudly and giving people their flowers while they’re still here . One major thing that sets me apart is that my clothing always has a message behind it . I’m proud to say that when people wear my brand they’re giving a positive message to the world . I’m also excited to see how far my brand can continue to reach and to grow . Honestly , a lot of research and not being afraid to try new things has allowed me to reach where I am professionally . Trust me it wasn’t easy , but I can truly say that so far it has been more than worth it . The main obstacle personally for me is just constantly reminding myself to stay the course and not to get discouraged . Some lessons I’ve learned from a business is that putting yourself out there is the best way to be successful . I also learned the importance of reaching out and helping others to begin businesses of their own . When the world sees my brand , I want them to think of love . Not only that , but I want them to remember the importance of loving loudly .

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
One of the best spots in Miami would definitely have to be Wynwood . There’s a handful of nice restaurants such as The Big Pink where you can enjoy great food at . There is also places such as Paranoia and Wynwood Walls which have plenty of sights and attractions for tourists to enjoy .

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Someone who definitely deserves a shoutout in my story would be my friend who’s honestly like a brother to me , Joshua Harris . Many things that we do here at SheKnowsApparel wouldn’t be possible if it wasn’t for him . Every photoshoot I’ve ever done he’s always been behind the camera taking all the pictures and he edits every single one . He’s always someone I can bounce my ideas off of and he really does a lot behind the scenes that I appreciate greatly . He even does animated videos for all of my promotions so I really appreciate him greatly . The best part about it is that he’s so humble with everything he does which I find to be amazing . So shoutout to Josh !
