We had the good fortune of connecting with Aneysha Bastien and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Aneysha, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
Well, I always wanted to be my own boss. Working a 9-5 full time never stuck with me. I’d have a different job every couple of months. I quit my last and final job to pursue my career in the hair business. With very few clients starting off it was a struggle for me but, I know timing is everything and that if I stayed consistent it would pay off in the near future . Which it did and I am beyond grateful !

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
One thing that sets me apart from other stylist would be the perfection of every style. Down to the little details everything is absolutely perfect . This year I am most excited about elevating and perfecting my craft , learning more styles. I’m honestly excited to see where I will be by the end of the year with my business ! To answer how I got to where I am today, I would say I just didn’t stop. I was always learning, trying and doing. I am not afraid to fail and so, I always win. No, it has not been easy but it has been worth it. I have learned that if you don’t have a clear vision of what you want to do then you will be easily swayed by what others want your brand to be. One thing I’d like the world to know about my brand is that it’s one of a kind.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Lol so my favorite place ever is the Fort Lauderdale Swap Shop drive in movie theater. I enjoy going there so much because it’s a relaxing experience right from your car . It’s very convenient. South Beach is another great spot on a good day for drinks , food , and a beautiful view all in one !

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
First and foremost my mother. Growing up watching her dedication, hard work, and non stop grind rubbed off on me and made me who who I am today. She inspired my work ethic and hustle . My family is always very supportive! My friends and most importantly my clients I thank you all for trusting me and showing love to my work and art . It’s a blessing .
