We had the good fortune of connecting with Ann-Marie Tamrowski and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Ann-Marie, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
I started my business by accident. It all started when I was helping my sister and nephew build and manage their mental health brand and following on Instagram called A Safe Place Inside Your Head in 2020 during the height of the pandemic. My responsibility was to work behind the scenes and connect with brands and content creators to share their work and services through sponsorships and collaborations.

I took my love for relationship building (I am also in corporate sales as my full-time job) and applied it within the podcasting community and learned the art of podcast pitching and the skills of podcast strategy and management and decided I could create a business from it (I love podcasts).

My goal is simply to help new business owners connect with their voice so they can be heard on a platform that doesn’t rely on social media algorithms so they can create a show that they can control and speak to their already engaged ideal clients and listeners.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
The work I do is based on being heart-centered and serving others with gratitude and intention.

My entire adult working life, I have been a sales professional in corporate. I still am. I love building relationships with people of influence, connecting with them authentically, and providing a service/offer that fills a need and closes a gap or challenge.

Balancing a full-time job and building a business on the side is not easy and not for everyone. You have to be driven, hard-working, independent, consistent, and have the will to keep going even on the days you don’t want to. I have taken what I have learned in corporate sales and applied it to my business helping others create a platform where they can share their message and their own brand.

I launched my podcast, Tabletop CEOs Podcast, in August 2022 because I wanted to put myself in the shoes of the hosts I work with and share what I am learning along the way. I want to meet my audience where they are at and guide them through the good, bad and ugly of running a podcast so they can continue their show so they are ready to monetize.

Throughout my work supporting our mental health brand, working in corporate, meeting and connecting hosts, and interviewing guests on my own podcast, I have met incredible people such as Johnny Crowder Founder of Cope Notes, creators of mental health apps, past contestants on America’s Got Talent, President and CEOs of large local companies, first responders on the frontline, and driven women entrepreuers making their mark.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
As a mental health advocate and someone who has struggled with anxiety and childhood trauma, the ability to help bring awareness around mental health and break down the stigma with a Safe Place Inside Your head was a very supportive effort from my family and the community we helped.

Realizing I was starting a business on the side outside of my full-time job, I knew I needed help with structure and systems to help balance my time with intention was key. I got the coaching and support I needed from Brittany Dixon, a business systems strategist and productivity coach. I was able to create the basic workflows I needed from contracts/invoices, onboarding and offboarding to creating a podcast management workflow that felt good to me.

Because I tend to binge on podcasts for personal and business development, my favorite shows that have helped me along the way are: The Podcast Manager Show with Lauren Wrighton, Grow the Show with Kevin Chemidlin, Go Pitch Yourself with Angie Trueblood, Dear Gabby with Gabby Bernstein and many more.
