We had the good fortune of connecting with Ann Nunez and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Ann, what habits do you feel play an important role in your life?
Habits are the tools that will actually make you reach your goals. It’s not about how smart, how knowledgeable, or what skill set you have–these traits help in how you reach your goals and sometimes how quickly you get there. Habits, however, those are actually gonna get you to your destination. In my case, the top habits that have helped me succeed are as follows: 1. Adapting & Changing Perspective. I have learned how to give myself grace. Just because I have not gotten to my goal as per my deadline doesn’t mean I won’t get there. I am very ambitious and this trait’s side effects can be impatience and frustration, but once I’ve changed the perspective from, “Ugh I can’t believe this or why is this happening?” to “OK, how is this a good thing?” everything seems clear as day. 2. Morning Routine. On a spiritual and physiological level, what you do when you first wake up sets the tone for your day. DON’T GRAB YOUR PHONE WHEN YOU FIRST WAKE UP. I sometimes slip up and do this at times, but I always try to charge my phone in the bathroom so that when I wake up I sit in bed and think about what I truly want. 3. Get a planner with daily questions. One of the planners we all use at the office is The High Performance Planner by Brendon Burchard. Writing your responses to the daily questions help you not only become more efficient and focused on the tasks that really matter, but you also become more intentional and happier. 4. Be consistent. Remember that consistency compounds. To get to your goal you have to keep doing the things that work and keep doing the tasks that will get you there no matter how boring or sometimes unmotivated you are. It’s OK to have an off-day, but pick up again the next day. I have several other habits I’m still learning to maintain, but overall I think the ones I mentioned are really effective.
What should our readers know about your business?
We truly care about our clients. We speak to them about their dreams and ask if we can either help their dreams come true or be part of them. We relate to our clients as much as we can because we are all human and we understand this. On a very specific level, each one of our team members have interests that can make positive impacts in our community. Our project manager has a remarkable talent for advocating women’s rights, our writer loves learning and writing about American history, our CEO is knowledgeable in everything politics, tech, and physics. And I’m drawn to create, whether it’s coming up with creative solutions, writing novels and poetry and sometimes even painting. I’ve learned that time really IS an illusion. As much as we want to stick to deadlines and schedules, life happens in unexpected ways. I’ve learned that when this happens, just breathe and realize that everything is good. A company’s essence comes from the ideals of those who make it up. Inreact’s story is the combination of each one of our stories, but more than anything it is the fact that we abide by our values: Integrity, Efficiency and Adaptability.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
This is pre-pandemic of course. So, here we go: The beach would be on the itinerary, specifically Haulover Beach. It’s quiet and the sand and water are spectacular. And after the beach, the tradition is pizza. So I’d take them to eat at Pummarola in Coral Gables (by our office). After the pizza, while we wait for the food to settle, we’d walk along Giralda Plaza and hopefully there’s a live band playing. For dessert, we go to Delicias Espana 2 to eat Soufflé Delicias. We’d dine at Aromas de Peru in Coral Gables and then do some karaoking in Open Stage where you can sing any song from where you are seated.
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
My husband and partner has been through all the obstacles of the business so he’s always an obvious choice. However, a few more people that have either believed in us or have helped us throughout the years have been my in-laws, my brother, my father, all of our long-standing clients–those that have stuck by us through the early years and continue to work with us because they understand our vision. And then there are all of the public speakers and YouTubers that we’ve learned from like Rachel Hollis, Bernard Buchard, Dr. Wayne Dyer and other creatives/philosophers like Jodorowsky, Krishnamurti and George Lucas.
