We had the good fortune of connecting with Anna Barrón and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Anna, we’d love to hear what makes you happy.
I find this as a beautiful and encouraging question… If I’m honest there are quite a few things and people that makes me happy.
-The first and foremost is GOD. In him I have an identity and I know I have a purpose.
-Quality time with my loved ones is something that also makes me very happy.
I consider the quote “Money well spent, is spent on family, food and travel”

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
For sure I’m still not half the person I want to be. I am in the process of achieving my biggest goals and dreams.

Of course it has not been easy. There are good days and there are bad days in sales, one day there may be many sales, other days few sales. But what do you do in the adversity, what face do you put on difficulties when a day is not quite bright?

Since I was little I have been very creative, I have enjoyed doing business. I love creating logos, slogans and websites and I have looked for ways to get some money for my interests, savings or projects.
In a couple of months I hope to enter the career of business administration.
At the present time I run and have created my small company “EliaDorcas” where I offer jewelry.
My goal is not to leave it in a small company, I want to train myself so that I can lead my own brand to success. I plan to turn it into a special ballet clothing boutique.
I also manage 3 YouTube channels: -Anna’s Vlog: Where I create positive content about personal anecdotes, reflections and my travels around the world.
-Coffe time with Anna: Where I do book and movie reviews.
-Studio 22: This last one is my most recent channel in which I plan to make an extension of my next dance academy.

At the age of four I started taking ballet classes near my house. In that moment I didn’t really enjoy the classes, because there were girls who were rude and indifferent. The ballet teacher moved to another city so I put that hobby aside for a while. Later, when I was 13, I went back to ballet classes and since then I have found a love and passion for dance. I have done about 5 presentations in theater, in my first times I was the girl who was in the thousand and one classes, I left the stage and ran to the dressing room to change for the next dance. Without a doubt, my most special presentation has been in 2019 in which I managed to present a solo and dance with the main dancer the piece “Pas de trois” I definitely want to have my dance academy. It is a goal between the short and medium term that I want to achieve.
From 2020 to 2021 I had the opportunity to give private dance lessons to two little ones. Emma – ballet and Bruno – hip hop.
Those guys will take a space in my heart for life. I can say that they were my first dance students, I learned and they learned. Without a doubt I put my creativity and knowledge to the fullest. His requests were to dance from a Frozen song to a Skillet song.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I live in Querétaro Mexico, it is located in the central region of Mexico. A beautiful and great city. Here are my must-sees that you should definitely visit: -The aqueduct
-The House of the Corregidora: Today converted into the Government Palace of the city. That was where Josefa Ortiz de Domínguez gave notice to a messenger that the conspiracy against the Spanish government had been discovered, in September 1810.
-Temple of the Cross: Learn about it’s original history; take, as a souvenir, one of the small crosses made with the thorns of the famous tree that is in one of the courtyards (in the convent area).
-Cerro de las Campanas: Today converted into a beautiful public park. in 1867, Maximilian of Habsburg was shot along with generals Miramón and Mejía, thus dictating the triumph of the Republic led by President Juárez.
-Teatro de la República: An imposing setting in whose beautiful interior the Constitution that currently governs the country was promulgated on February 5, 1917.
-La piccola italia: One of my favorite restaurants, authentic Italian food is located in the center Calle 5 de Mayo #100 Centro, 76020
-La Querencia: typical Mexican food, a Mexican restaurant whose specialty is red pozole and snacks located at Av Constituyentes 75, Cimatario, 76030
-Elotes and gorditas padilla brothers: Appetizers and typical food from Queretaro located on the road to Bernal km 5.5 before the airport

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
-God. Without a doubt, having a relationship with my creator is key to being able to reach my goals and to know what is best for my life. It is important to be strong and of a good courage; be not afraid and do things with excellence.
-My Parents.
They have taught me a lot over the years, I am not a perfect daughter, neither are they the perfect parents.
But come on… No one is perfect in this life.
Directly and indirectly, they have given me many life lessons, sometimes harshly and realistically, sometimes lovingly and calmly.
-My grandmothers.
I can assure you that I have gotten many of my qualities from them.
At present, I only have my paternal grandmother with me
-Celia whom I esteem and admire a lot, she is an excellent doctor and an adventurer without fear of anything. My goal is to be able to know as many places around the world as she has done for a long time, without fear of leaving her comfort zone, either in company or alone.
-My maternal grandmother Elia. She was an amazing woman, dedicated to her family, needlewoman and entrepreneur. She always put others first. The nights of talk with her were always beautiful. She knew how to listen and encourage in a unique way. I really miss her. She died for covid this 2021 btw: I’m planning to write a book in the future telling her story, the world deserves to know about this clever and empowered woman.
-Friends.
There comes a point in life when it is so real, that true friends can be counted on the palm of one hand. At present my circle of friends is small and very loyal. I know for sure which friend I should go to, when something comes up in my day to day life.
One of my advices are: Associate with people who add you, who tell you not what you always want to hear, but what you really should, even if it hurts. Find friends who are there in the good and the bad.
I want to distinguish special women in my life who are a role model for me.
-My mom.
Honestly I don’t know a stronger woman than she. Life is not colorful always and one decides how to see the outlook, no matter how difficult the situation becomes. She is an overcomer.
I admire her style (although we are totally opposite poles) her confidence, heart and body. (I beg to God to be able to train and look good as she at her forties)
-Tania de Alba.
In recent years I have begun to follow Tania de Alba, a woman I admire so much, I still do not have the pleasure of meeting her in person, but I hope one day I will. She is the founder of FIT STUDIO and creator of the JUMP IT method. My goal is to be able to inspire and encourage women around the world with a program like this. She is a clear example of what it means to take care of yourself, not only physically, but also mentally.
-Ballet teachers.
These three dancers have contributed a lot to my life.
I´ve had the pleasure of taking dance classes with them and without their advices and ways of teaching I would not be what I am today in the field of dance.
-Marcela Medina
One of my best dance teachers. Her passion and dedication to ballet have taught me a lot. There are no excuses for not doing what you love.
-Cecy Vazquez
A complete dancer in every way. I admire her as a teacher and friend. Her way of being on stage and entering the role is unique. In each movement you can see the passion and dedication. Another example of what it’s like to work hard without excuses (even when you’re pregnant)
-Eduar Morillo
I had the opportunity to take my first pointe lessons with him. Without a doubt, the teacher that every dancer wants and needs. Passionate, dedicated, disciplined and honest.
He gave me the chance to dance the swan lake piece “pas de trois” with him and get a solo for the first time. He has taught me that “I am my only limitation” and what it means to fight for my dreams and goals.
-Famous people.
Like many, I have famous people that I admire a lot
-Selena Quintanilla is one of them,
I identify myself with her, because she is Mexican-American, I didn´t have the opportunity to met her, nor to know about her when she was still alive. Through interviews, videos and movies that have been made of her life, I have been able to know about her. I really want to be just as humble and down to earth as she was.
-Tom Holland is one of my favorite actors without a doubt.
He has been increasing his popularity and career in Hollywood and I certainly, firmly believe, that it has been thanks to his talent and dedication. The first time I saw him was in the movie “The Impossible” and years later as Spiderman.
He has spoken on different occasions about how being a dancer opened the doors for him to be able to play the roles he has done.
-Camila Cabello is one of my favorite singers.
I love her voice and her identity as a Mexican-Cuban. She fighted to get ahead and is a clear example of what discipline is, because she has mentioned a couple of times that she came to the USA without knowing English and because of her dedication and desire to learn she managed to do it.

It fascinates me to get to the part of the books. I love reading and it´s also one of my favorite hobbies.
-The bible.
It is a book full of promises and stories of imperfect people being loved and created for a wonderful purpose.
All the women of the bible – Herbert Lockyer.
It´s in my recent readings, all women have to read it. Is a book that highlights and empowers the wonderful art of what it is to be a woman.
-God has a plan for you – Hannah Brencher.
If you have been through difficult times, depression, or where you don´t see the end of the rainbow, this book will certainly help you. The author narrates her fight against depression and personal situations and she leaves support, advices and key moments to enjoy life.
For teenagers and young people I want to recommend
-The 6 most important decisions of your life – Sean Covey.
I can assure you that you will not get bored, because the author has thought of everything, from the cover, to each page has a great design. After reading that book you will not be the same.

I want to tell you, reading has never hurt anyone, read and reread your favorite stories over and over again.
Remember “You have to read, because eating makes you fat, smoking kills, drinking intoxicates and love hurts”.

For last but not least, I want to tell you from the bottom of my heart that it is never too late to start. It is never too late to fight and achieve your goals. The road is difficult, yes, very difficult. Remember that what is worth costs. But it’s up to you to dust yourself off and get back in the ring. Get out of your comfort zone.
If you have gone through or are going through a painful, stormy moment or a depression, I swear it will come out. It’s not overnight, it takes time, it’s one day at a time.
