Meet Anna Meyster | Artist, Founder of ‘Anna Meyster Art’

We had the good fortune of connecting with Anna Meyster and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Anna, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
Starting my art business in Miami was a mix of passion, preparation, and opportunity. The decision emerged from a pivotal moment in my life – leaving behind my home country of Ukraine amidst challenging circumstances and embracing a new beginning in the USA. With a solid background in marketing and an art degree, I saw a chance to blend my creative side with my business skills.
The decision to launch my business was first of all influenced by a desire to follow my heart and create art that was my dream since I was a kid. Miami’s vibrant arts community and welcoming atmosphere provided the perfect environment to bring my vision to life. Engaging with local artists and galleries, I found inspiration and support at every turn.
In short, my journey from Ukraine to Miami was about seizing the moment, combining artistry with entrepreneurship, and finding my place in a city that celebrates creativity at every turn.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
As a Ukrainian-born artist now living and working in Miami, my work in contemporary figurative art style delves into themes of memories, happiness, nostalgia, and the fleeting nature of our lives. One piece that vividly embodies these themes is “Teddy’s Tetris” from my recent TOYS collection, where I use vibrant colors and dynamic textures to capture the essence of youthful joy juxtaposed with the shadows of passing time. With this artwork I invite my audience to reconnect with its inner child and reflect on the realities of adulthood. Launching my own business, Anna Meyster Art, here in Miami has been a highlight of my career. I’ve had the honor of showcasing my work during Miami Art Week and being represented in several galleries across Florida and beyond. I cherish the opportunity to see my art resonate globally—from the U.S. to Europe—fueling my excitement to continue creating and sharing my vision.
My journey to becoming a professional artist was anything but straightforward. Having lived in five countries, I gained a rich tapestry of experiences—from earning a business degree and a Master of Arts in London to working at MTV Ukraine and in international marketing. However, my passion for art persisted through it all. Each move and career shift brought me closer to realizing that my true calling was in the arts. Embracing the risks and challenges of uprooting life and starting anew, especially moving from Ukraine to the US and the war that has started in my home country, shaped not only my personal resilience but also my artistic depth.
A key lesson for me has been the importance of embracing risk. Transitioning careers and relocating internationally taught me that the greatest risk lies in doing nothing at all. Fear of failure often holds people back, but I’ve learned to confront it by asking myself: What’s the worst that could happen? Most times, I find my answer to be not as daunting as I make it out to be. This mindset allowed me to take leaps of faith—trust in my intuition and dive fully into my art, which has opened doors to incredible opportunities and personal growth.
Growing up in Ukraine deeply influenced both my character and artistic voice. I draw immense pride from my roots and strive to honor that heritage in my work. Despite the challenges faced by my homeland, the spirit of resilience and bravery permeates my art. My brand, Anna Meyster Art, is not just a business; it’s a passion and a dialogue with the world. Each painting tells a story, inviting the viewer into a conversation that transcends the visual, stirring emotions and provoking thoughts.
Looking ahead, I am driven to expand Anna Meyster Art globally, transforming spaces and lives with each piece. Beyond personal recognition, I am committed to fostering a vibrant art community and nurturing emerging talent. Additionally, I am excited about exploring collaborations at the intersection of art, technology, and fashion. These endeavors are not just dreams but steps I am actively pursuing to merge traditional artistry with modern innovation, ensuring my art continues to evolve and inspire.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I would be more than happy to welcome my friends to a to a Sun-Kissed, Art-Filled Week in Miami!
I’d suggest starting the Miami journey with an unforgettable sunrise yoga session on the sands of Miami Beach. Experience the beautiful dawn as the vibrant city stirs to life. After our morning stretch, I would invite my friend to join me at my art studio in Miami Shores for a personal tour where I’ll share some behind-the-scenes secrets of my creative process.
As we delve into Miami’s rich art scene, we’ll explore the stunning murals of Wynwood, and check out some must-visit galleries such as Fredric Snitzer Gallery, Manolis Projects Gallery, Aliona Ortega Fine Art, Wyn317, and Spinello Projects. Each spot offers a unique slice of the city’s diverse artistic offerings.
A visit to Miami wouldn’t be complete without experiencing its museums. We’ll spend time at the Perez Art Museum to admire modern and contemporary masterpieces and wander through the stylish streets of the Miami Design District, where public art and high fashion blend seamlessly.
For a taste of local flavors, we’ll dive into the salsa vibes at Ball & Chain in Little Havana. Here, you can dance the night away. Next day it would be perfect to chill at the North Beach and enjoy some of the best tapas at Taquiza, a cozy café that captures the spirit of Miami.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I’d like to thank my husband who supports me in every step of my art business – he encourages me, helps with logistics, packaging, assembling art at the venues, setting up at the art fairs and much more. He is my biggest cheerleader. I am also grateful to my big family for supporting me in my artistic journey.
