Meet Anna Scharre | Music Producer, Singer Songwriter, Designer

We had the good fortune of connecting with Anna Scharre and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Anna, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
Honestly, NIÁLEE started as just an outlet—something personal. I wasn’t thinking about it as a “business” at first; it was more about creating a world I wanted to exist in, a space where sound and visuals felt like home to me. Music has always been this physical, almost visual experience for me—like movement, color, and texture all blending together—so I wanted to shape that into something tangible.
As I kept building on it, I realized NIÁLEE wasn’t just about making music; it was about crafting an entire atmosphere, a feeling. I wanted to create something immersive, something that felt dreamy and nostalgic but also futuristic and a little eerie, like a signal coming through from another dimension. And I wanted to do it on my own terms—no corporate constraints, no rules, just pure expression.
That’s what pushed me to start thinking of it as more than just a passion project. If I wanted to bring NIÁLEE to life in the way I envisioned, I had to treat it like a real entity. So now, it’s this evolving mix of sound, design, and storytelling, and I’m figuring out how to make it sustainable without losing the soul of it. It’s a challenge, but it’s also the most exciting thing I’ve ever built.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
NIÁLEE is more than just music—it’s an entire atmosphere. It’s dreamy, wavy, a little glitchy, but always intentional. My sound is about feeling as much as it is about listening—like a brain massage, something that quiets the noise of the world for a moment. I think what sets me apart is the way I approach music. I don’t just hear it; I *see* it. I am trained in classical ballet, and growing up in that environment had me learning music through movement, through the way it hit the floor, the way it shaped a space. That’s how I create now—I mix based on emotion, texture, and color rather than just structure or formula.
Getting to this point hasn’t been easy. I’ve dealt with a lot of self-doubt, a lot of moments where I wondered if what I was doing mattered. But I kept going because NIÁLEE isn’t just a passion project—it’s something I *need* to create. I’ve learned that no one will believe in your vision if you don’t believe in it first. The moment I stopped worrying about fitting into a mold and just leaned into what made my sound *mine*, things started clicking.
And NIÁLEE is just the beginning. I see it growing into something much bigger—an entire creative universe. That’s where *Starhaus Collective* comes in. It’s my vision for a multi-disciplined design house, a space where music, architecture, and visual storytelling all collide. It’s about crafting immersive experiences, places that feel like stepping into a dream. NIÁLEE was the spark, but with Starhaus, I want to expand that feeling into something tangible—something people can *step into, live in, and experience.*

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
If my best friend was visiting Miami for a week, I’d want to show them the perfect mix of chill beach vibes, great food, and that special Miami energy. We’d start with a morning at the **Key Biscayne beaches**—it’s way more laid-back than South Beach, with beautiful water and plenty of space to just kick back. After that, we’d grab some pasta and gelato at **Narbona**, which is always a vibe. Then, we’d head to **Vizcaya Museum & Gardens**, one of my all-time favorite spots—it’s like stepping into an old European estate, with stunning architecture and gardens right on the water. For dinner, we’d hit **Osumi** for sushi, then end the night at **Regatta Grove**, sipping drinks by the bay with live music and a perfect view of the skyline.
Another day, we’d dive into **Wynwood**, checking out the murals and the galleries. But we’d also hit the **Design District**, where the vibe’s a little more polished—think high-end stores, cool architecture, and a ton of design inspiration. After that, we’d stop by **Flanigan’s** because, let’s be real, no trip to Miami is complete without their ribs and a pitcher of beer. Then, we’d go shopping at **Dadeland Mall**—it’s got a good mix of stores, from the high-end stuff to the more casual spots. Later, we’d wind down at **Corbett’s**, which is basically the definition of a local dive bar—super chill, low-key, and always has the best energy. The week would be a perfect balance of beach days, exploring, eating, and just soaking in the city. Miami has such a unique vibe, and this would be the best way to experience it all.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I have to give a huge shoutout to my sister, Beck. I started sharing some of my first songs with her about eight years ago, and let’s be real—they were *rough* back then. But she never made me feel like I should stop. She always encouraged me to keep going, to keep refining my sound, and over the years, I’ve gotten so much better because of that. Having someone who believes in you from the beginning, even when you’re still figuring things out, is priceless.
And of course, a shoutout to my past self. NIÁLEE gave her an outlet—a way to take that never-resting mind of hers and pour it into something creative, something people can actually connect to. She needed that. Without her persistence, without all those late-night experiments with sound and storytelling, NIÁLEE wouldn’t exist.
