We had the good fortune of connecting with Anna Svetchnikov and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Anna, is there something that you feel is most responsible for your success?
The most critical factor behind the success of both myself and my brand involves a two-part approach: taking action and effective planning. These two elements work hand in hand and have been instrumental in achieving our goals. Firstly, the concept of “Just Do It” has been a driving force. Taking action is paramount because it propels me forward, turning ideas into reality and maintaining momentum. It’s about overcoming procrastination and fear and gaining valuable experience that contributes to my success.
Secondly, effective planning is equally vital. While overplanning can be exhausting and lead to stagnation, planning enough provides structure and direction. It’s about striking that balance. I follow a set of five steps that have proven to be highly effective:

1. Write it down: I begin by clearly defining my big dreams and ultimate ambitions, making sure they are Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Relevant, and Time-bound (S.M.A.R.T.). This step helps me articulate my goals and give them a concrete form.

2. Break it down: I then break my overarching goal into smaller, manageable tasks or sub-goals. These smaller steps create a clear path towards my larger objectives, making them less daunting and more achievable.

3. Create a timeline: Setting realistic deadlines for each sub-goal is crucial. This timeline provides structure and helps me track my progress, ensuring I stay on course to achieve my ultimate ambitions.

4. Take action: I start working on the first task in my plan and steadily progress through the list. Consistency and dedication are key. It’s not about rushing but maintaining a steady pace.

5. Review and adjust: Regularly assessing my progress is vital. This step is not a sign of failure but a crucial part of the process. We adjust our plan as needed based on our observations and experiences, ensuring we stay aligned with our goals.

Success is a result of balancing action and planning effectively. “Just do it” to initiate progress, and “plan enough” to provide structure and direction to my efforts. Following these five steps has significantly enhanced my ability to achieve my goals and optimize success, both for myself and my brand.

What should our readers know about your business?
I’m passionate about my work as a therapist, and they say that when you love what you do, you’ll never work a day in your life. My business revolves around writing therapeutic books for both kids and adults. It’s a unique endeavor that allows me to combine my love for writing with my dedication to helping individuals and families.

What sets me apart is my commitment to creativity and stepping outside of my comfort zone. I believe that innovation is key to making a lasting impact. I constantly jot down ideas, whether it’s a fresh approach to therapy or a new book concept.

One of my proudest moments has been the opportunity to speak at conferences. I’ll be presenting my Tripartide Persona Approach in family therapy at two international conferences, one in St. Petersburg, Florida, in February 2024, and another at the Family Therapy World Congress in Toyoma, Japan, in April. These experiences have allowed me to share my unique perspective and learn from experts worldwide.

The journey to where I am today hasn’t always been easy. I’ve faced challenges along the way, but each obstacle became an opportunity for growth. I’ve learned that resilience and adaptability are key to overcoming these challenges. It’s crucial to embrace setbacks as valuable lessons that propel you forward.

What I want the world to know about my brand and story is that it’s a journey of passion, creativity, and continuous learning. I draw inspiration not only from my clients but also from everyday encounters – conversations with kids, interactions at the grocery store – because I believe that if you already know everything, it’s impossible to learn anything new. My blog, “Life, Love, Etc,” on Psychology Today, is another platform where I can share insights and connect with a wider audience. My mission is to make a positive impact on people’s lives through therapy, literature, and the power of constant growth and innovation.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
When it comes to showing my best friend an unforgettable week in the area, I like to strike a balance between new experiences and comfortable places. Here’s a little itinerary for our week-long adventure:

Day 1: Sushi Night
We would kick off the trip with a visit to my favorite sushi restaurant. Sushi is a must-have for me anytime, and it’s the perfect way to start our journey.

Day 2: Beach Day
We’d spend the day at the beach, soaking up the sun and enjoying the ocean breeze. It’s a relaxing and familiar setting that offers a perfect blend of comfort and enjoyment.

Day 3: Indoor Skydiving Adventure
For a memorable experience, I’d take my friend indoor skydiving. It’s an exhilarating activity that provides an adrenaline rush and creates lasting memories.

Day 4: Yoga with Lemurs
To add a unique and unforgettable touch to our trip, we’d attend a yoga session with lemurs. It’s a one-of-a-kind experience that combines relaxation with adorable animal interaction.

Day 5: Explore Local Art and Culture
We’d spend a day exploring local art galleries and museums to appreciate the area’s culture and creativity.

Day 6: Dining at a Rooftop Restaurant
For a change of scenery, we’d dine at a rooftop restaurant with a stunning view of the city, enjoying delicious cuisine and a vibrant atmosphere.

Day 7: Nature Hike
To wrap up our week, we’d go on a nature hike in a scenic park, connecting with the natural beauty of the area.

Absolutely, I’d love to dedicate my shoutout to the incredible people who continuously inspire and support me in my journey. My biggest sources of motivation and strength are my kids Anthony, Adrian, Apollo, my husband Michael, and my mom Vera. They’ve been there with unwavering love and encouragement, making a significant impact on my life and success.
