We had the good fortune of connecting with Annastacia Opasinski and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Annastacia, how did you come up with the idea for your business?
If you can say one thing definitively about me, it’s that I love a good story. I have spent my career curating story driven experiences for my clients. Whether that was in entertainment production, where I managed large scale events, or in hospitality where I curated travel itineraries for my guests, my passion was always centered on the personalized experience. As is the story with so many, the pandemic really shifted my priorities and so I began to think about how I could create a business that would allow me the flexibility to be a more present mother and friend while also doing what I love most: helping people discover experiences that lead to lasting memories.

On one hand I work with clients to ensure the vision for their event is executed and on the other, I help visiting guests to build an itinerary full of activities and dining experiences that will truly resonate with them. Regardless of which aspect of my business I am immersed in, I am able to ensure that my clients leave Maine with new stories to be told, as well as lovely memories to be re-lived.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?

My background is in theatre and entertainment production. I worked for theatre companies in the South and for a large theme park on their entertainment production team. My career was everything I wanted it to be at the time. I worked on phenomenal events and productions with some of the best artists in the industry. I truly loved working in the arts, being able to be part of a show, performance, or production that would ultimately resonate with the audience was my dream career.

Ultimately I moved to Maine where I found myself discovering a new passion in hospitality at a resort that was just opening where it was my job to craft the overall guest experience, to find the best local excursions and restaurants, and to build a team passionate about helping guests discover all that makes Maine so memorable. I loved getting to know the local business owners, understanding the experience they were offering, and finding new offerings for our guests to enjoy just as much as I enjoyed hearing the guest stories when they returned from a sailing excursion or a guided bicycle tour, and knowing that everyday I was part of the team who helped to make those memories happen for our guests.

At the core of my business is kindness and true connections. I want to help my clients experience as much of Maine, this hidden gem of a state, as possible. Whether I am helping a family who is on vacation, a couple who is honeymooning, or a client execute their special event, I want for my clients to feel like they have been speaking with a friend, someone who truly cares about their experience, and is working to ensure that they have the time of their lives here in Southern Maine.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.

From Kittery to Portland there are an incredible number of experiences to enjoy; however, if I were building an itinerary for my friend:

We would start with a visit to the iconic Perkins Cove where we would meander through the shops, enjoy a private sailing excursion, watch lobstering boats coming in and out of the cove, and grab the best lobster roll around before we walked the Marginal Way, a mile long paved cliff top walking path with breathtaking views.

We would take a morning to hike to the top of Mt. Agamenticus and stop in for a tour with my friends at the Center for Wildlife where we would meet their animal ambassadors and learn about conservation throughout Maine before visiting the Nubble Lighthouse followed by an ice cream at Dunne’s!

It’s not a trip to Southern Maine without spending an afternoon taking in a whale watching excursion, kayaking adventure, or guided bicycle tour in historic Kennebunkport before hitting the Ogunquit beach at sunset to reminisce on a week well spent.

For a bit of nightlife, we would head down to the Leavitt Theatre for amazing cocktails, food, and live music, stop into the Front Porch for a bit of singing at the piano bar, and finish the night dancing away at Maine Street!

There are so many great restaurants to choose from; however, if I want my best friend to enjoy a true taste of Maine, we are not missing a dinner reservation at Walker’s Maine, Northern Union, Crooked Pine or The Maine Catch!

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?

My life has led me down many a path that ultimately intersected with a group of amazing friends who are truly my foundation. They help me to stay grounded, motivate me when I find it challenging to motivate myself, and love me unconditionally. This amazing and diverse group have lifted me in the hardest times, have helped me to realize the best version of myself, and have truly shown me love in all things.

While there have been many others in my life who have motivated and guided me, including my family, I have to shout out to my mentor, Clermont, who truly helped me to understand that I am in control of my destiny. She helped me to see my own potential, taught me that if I want something it is achievable so long as you have a plan, and that extending compassion in everything will help you to make more personal connections. She helped me to set out on a path that would ultimately lead me to becoming a business owner and to this day, her guidance means the world to me.
