We had the good fortune of connecting with Anne-Laurence Nemorin and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Anne-Laurence, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
I grew up in a house of entrepreneurs: my dad owned a construction company and my mom owned a catering business and bakery. Although I experienced the difficulties of being a business owner through my parents, I also saw how much more freedom it afforded them. They were both present and available any time I needed them, and I remember wanting that for my future self and future children one day. I also got to see how accomplishments are so much more rewarding and fulfilling as a business owner, and knew from a young age that I would be an entrepreneur. Therefore, as I went through the different stages of my life, I took every opportunity to grow my entrepreneur spirit. I started my first company with a group of fellow students my junior year of college and never stopped building since then. Now, I am actively working on two technology startups, my brand and coaching business, as well as my real estate venture. I not only want the freedom that entrepreneurship offers, but I also want to build something of my own. I want to provide other people with opportunities and have the time and resources to build my community and country up. I want the world to remember me as someone who pushed boundaries, solved problems, and changed definitions and expectations. I want to be remembered as a visionary, and that is why I became an entrepreneur.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I’m not only a business owner, but I also have a career in the wind energy industry. I’ve worked as an engineer in this industry, building wind turbine layouts, doing site characterization, and doing wind resource and energy assessments for large scale wind farms throughout the U.S. and Canada (some projects as big as 1900MW). Now, I work more as a project manager, but still in this same field. I really love what I do and the renewable energy industry as a whole. It is super exciting to be a part of this relatively new industry where everyone is trying to save our planet while powering American homes. One thing that I believe has aided my success in this industry is my ability to work with a lot of unknowns and critically solve problems. There is always a new challenge that no one has ever seen before in this industry, and being willing to roll with the punches and try to figure it out is key to one’s success.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Some of my favorite spots in Miami include: – Nikki Beach Club
– The Rusty Pelican
– The Frost Museum
– The Miami Botanical Garden
– Wynwood as a whole (the walls, rooftop bars, ice cream shops)
– And of course the beach

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I want to dedicate my shoutout to my parents. They led by example and showed me what being an entrepreneur looks like, what true determination is, and how to be generous with my people and community.
