We had the good fortune of connecting with Antonio Espinal and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Antonio, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
One of the toughest things about building your own brand is getting your name out there and being patient throughout the whole process.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
What set me apart from others is the simple fact that where ever I go I bring positive and good energy to the table. What I’m proud of is how far we’ve came as a team. More people from around starting to know the name and what we offer.

To get to where i am at today has been more of an obstacle course of ups and downs. Just the simple fact that you have to literally put yourself out there and promote your brand. Taking expenses out of your pocket on a weekly bases to cover games, create merch and the traveling expenses of the team.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
If my friends where to come in town and wanted to go out for good eats I’m definitely taking them too one of my favorite spots which is called Ikrave in Liberty City. I’ll give them a real tour of Miami the side they don’t show on TV like Liberty City, Opa-locka, Miami Gardens, Overtown. If the night is good we’ll hit up the Wynwood art district to enjoy the night life.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
There’s only a very few people that I can shoutout through this process that has been very positive and determine to see this media platform grow. I could say my family our my main supporters including just a very few of my college peers. The ones who I appreciate the most are the ones who are working with me and making this all happen. Without them no one will know what HBCU Redzone is all about.
