We had the good fortune of connecting with Arianne “Om” Traverso and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Arianne “Om”, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
Being an entrepreneur is in my blood as I’m part of over 4 generations of creators. Freedom is one of my core values and the only way to maintain that and be as successful as I want is being my own boss. I love traveling, being independent and calling my own shots so it was a natural progression to create opportunities for myself to shine and lead my life. I’ve done everything for being a freelance photo assistant and editor to having my own studio to now being a coach for those who want the same thing.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Being in the business of wellness over the last 15 years as a yoga teacher, health coach I learned that it’s our biggest responsibility to show up unique and authentic. I’m most proud of always moving forward no matter the mistakes I made. Never giving up and having the gifts yoga as the backbone and foundation for all I do. It’s how I coach, it’s why I am grounded and have the strength to overcome the obstacles being a business owner brings. I’m most proud of making the decision to be the owner of The Yoga Expo and start BizYogi because it doubled my income in a year. It shows that having the courage to step into the unknown with support and good strategy can get you there.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
100% I would go to three places. 1. South Beach as it was my stomping ground for over a decade. It’s vibrant, fun and unlike any other place in Miami. 2. Everglades is nature at it’s finest. 3. Vizcaya Museum is one of my favorite places to go to as it’s rich in history, peaceful and so unique.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I’ve had so many amazing mentors in my life starting from my parents who never told me I couldn’t do something. Also my yoga teacher Loren Russo who mentored my journey into a teacher of teachers. My 2 business coaches, Michelle Villalobos and Jim Bunch who taught me about the possibilities that lay ahead and about leadership. And the one book everyone should read who’s an entrepreneur is the E Myth
