We had the good fortune of connecting with Arthur Saint-Cyr and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Arthur, how did you come up with the idea for your business?
The idea for my business came about after graduation from college having no money and still waiting to hear back from jobs that I applied to. I was sitting with my brother Corey one night and he asked “what is something you love that can make you money?” I immediately thought back to the joy I found behind the lens of a camera, taking pictures for the yearbook and participating in the daily broadcast. I quickly grabbed my computer and spent the last couple of dollars in my bank account on a camera. The rest is history.
Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
Getting to where I am today was not easy. I was always able to produce great images but marketing myself was the hard part. Social media is a great marketing tool but when you are a private person that barely post on your personal page, it gets tricky when you HAVE to post on your business accounts. The lesson I learned along the way is that to for my business to be successful I have to separate my personal feelings from my business. What I want the world to know about my brand is that I strive on making my clients happy and capture their moments in an Artful way.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
If My best friend came to town I would take them to spots that I love going to. Wynwood, specifically Coyo Taco and get the Carne Asada tacos. Then skip south beach and got to Hollywood Beach to get away from tourist and actually enjoy the beach then stop by Jackson Ice Cream Parlor. Later in the week we can hit up Las Olas and walk the strip. Chez Katu for some Haitian pate and depending on the season go to FTX to watch the Heat or Hard Rock Stadium to watch the Dolphins. Some other places we can go during their visit include but are not limited to Club Liv, Lincoln Ave, Prime 112, Grandpa’s for breakfast, snappers, Hard Rock Casino, Bar Rita, and Astra in Wynwood.
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
My brother Corey, owner of Corey W. Photography and co-owner of TC^2 Studios in Orlando, helped me fine tune my editing skills and continuously teaches me new techniques. My middle school teacher Ms. Bernice Young that saw my passion and taught me how to use a DSLR camera. My family, friends, and my girlfriend for always supporting me and pushing me to continue being creative.
