We had the good fortune of connecting with Ashley Andrews and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Ashley, what do you attribute your success to?
The most significant factor behind our success at Digital Zess is our personable, culturally resonant, and community-minded approach. We prioritize understanding and celebrating the nuances of culture and community, which enhances our connections with diverse audiences. This commitment to authenticity and deep cultural engagement not only enriches our clients’ social media presence but also fortifies their roles within their communities, cementing our reputation and success in the digital space.
Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
As CEO and Chief Strategist of Digital Zess, I lead a dynamic social media agency dedicated to elevating brands’ online presence.
Our agency is distinguished by our commitment to crafting personalized, culturally resonant content that fosters genuine connections between brands and their audiences.
The journey at Digital Zess has been marked by constant learning and adaptation to the ever-changing digital landscape. Founded amid a global pandemic, Digital Zess arose during a period when the demand for meaningful digital interaction was at its peak.
Overcoming challenges along the way, we’ve honed our expertise in creating strategies that not only engage but significantly stand out. Our mission is to tell stories that linger, highlighting our brand philosophy of innovative, culture-driven, and impactful digital marketing. Growing up in a Trinidadian household, I am most proud of our work spearheading social media for the largest Caribbean event in North America, Miami Carnival. Being able to blend my passion for culture and community with my social media marketing savvy was a dream come true. I am so excited to continue sharing diverse narratives of the voices and communities I deeply care about.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
If my best friends were visiting South Florida, I would definitely tell them to hit up Pembroke Pines’ weekly food truck market to indulge in Trinidadian style street food at my favorite food truck Wonton on Wheels. While Miami has a lot of great tourist spots, no other area inspires me more than Wynwood Art District. Wynwood is an amazing place to celebrate, hang out and gain inspiration from street art to fashion to architecture.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
A heartfelt shoutout goes to Yvette Harris, my mentor and a brilliant PR strategist who has been instrumental in my transition from journalism to PR and social media strategy. Yvette pushes me to surpass my limits, turning challenges into growth opportunities.
Her faith in storytelling and strategic insight guided me to find and effectively use my voice. Her impact stretches beyond professional lessons; it’s her mentorship, kindness, and optimism that have left an indelible mark on my path. I owe a great deal of my success to her unwavering support and invaluable wisdom. Thank you, Yvette, for being a pivotal part of my story.
