We had the good fortune of connecting with Ashlyne Lafleur-Adebaworin and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Ashlyne, can you tell us more about your background and the role it’s played in shaping who you are today?
I am Haitian American born and raised in Miami Florida. I am 3 of 5 girls raised by mom (who become a widow at young age) and two older sisters. Seeing my mom and my older sisters work hard played a huge impact in my life. Primarily because they are immigrant women who came from Haiti and worked hard to make sure that me and my younger sisters never needed anything. After my dad died, my sisters had to step up to help my mom especially because she spoke no English. I realized I had to make a name for myself to represent my family and my culture. I come from a long line of strong black women who work hard in life, set goals and try their best to succeed at every and anything that stands in our way.
Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Crowned Events Miami LLC is an experience. It is a party rental service that provides 360 photobooth, balloon artistry, DJ services and so much more. Crowned Events Miami LLC is different because my team and I get involved with our customers. We go above and beyond to make their experiences memorable. My business got to where it is today because of my amazing team and my support system. They have been in my corner since the beginning. Building a business from the ground is not easy at all. We had to invest a lot of time, resources and money into making CrownedEvents Miami LLC into what it is today. We may be a small business but I have high hopes that we will go far. Some of the lessons we’ve learned along the way is if you don’t take a chance you’ll never know where you’ll be. Taking risk has never been a strong suit for me but with my support system and my team I’ve made the changes that I needed to make to get my business moving. I want the world to experience my business and to see that it’s not just another party business or a 360 photobooth rental. I want them to get the Royal experience and to leave feeling like royalty.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
So living in Miami there’s a lot of things I enjoy doing. For brunch Milk Money Bar and Kitchen or Shooters Fort Lauderdale are some of the go too. Their brunch menus are delicious and really affordable and it’s so close to the beach. For some drinks we would go over to 14 North Dairiquri Bar in Dania Pointe or we can even try some of wines over at Cooper’s Hawk. We would also be able to shop, watch a movie and try the different restaurants within that area. I also love going near Wynwood walls to see the all the art, try the different food trucks and just site see the area. Miami and Broward County has so many things to do the list goes on. From the beaches, to the restaurants, museums, bars, food trucks, the art district, and even Miami Heat games.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
There is someone I would like to shout out. First I would like to shout out God for always being present in my life through every trial and tribulation. My family for always standing beside me and encouraging me. My friends who have bren there through thick and thick. But there is one shout out that I can’t forget to give. I would like to shout out my husband Joachim Adebaworin but you can call him Jojo. He has been one of my biggest support systems. He is always pushing me to be my best and to always look at the bigger picture. I spoke about wanting to start a business for so long but was always hesitant. He always reminds me that “You’ll never know if you don’t try”. He is always there to reassure me that there is nothing in this world I can’t do. CrownedEvents Miami LLC was established with his help. I can’t thank him enough.
