We had the good fortune of connecting with Assia Payne and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Assia, how did you come up with the idea for your business?
As a young teenager I always had love and interest about fashion, trends and music. All my time and money were spent buying magazines, accessories and clothes. Once I graduated from high school, I decided to go to study fashion marketing, which helped me dive into different aspect of fashion and loved every minute of it. Every time since a very young age that I walked into a clothing store I get this weird happy feeling of ” I want to have a store like this one day” The smell, the lighting, the clothes, especially walking into Zara which really inspired me, it was my happy place. I dreamed of working in the fashion industry in New-York at such a young age. After years of trying to do a million other jobs and businesses, I finally decided it was time to launch an online store and physical showroom. I believe it was the best way to showcase my love for fashion, my creativity and pursue my dream.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
If my best friend was visiting, I would start by taking her by my store, Ella Payne Collection, to grab a few outfits that fits the Miami lifestyle as well as all the dinners and brunch we will attend. We will start our week by going to breakfast at Burlock coast inside the Ritz Carlton Fort Lauderdale. I love the menu and the seating across the beach really makes you appreciate Florida. We would take daily morning walks or full workouts by the beach. I would take her to Miami to visit the Perez museum and all around Wynwood. We would stop by KYU and Crudos for a bite while in the area. I would take her to the design district for some luxury shopping and stop at the DIOR cafe for a nice lunch. Somewhere during the week, we would probably go a little crazy and get a small tattoo at Empire ink tattoo on south beach and show her ocean drive while stopping at the Versace mansion for dinner and drinks later on. Since restaurants are my thing, some of the places I would take her are; Nobu, Restoration Hardware, Hakkasan, Matador room, Scarpetta, Seaspice and Papi steak. For late night drinks, I would take her to two beautiful rooftop, sparrow and Sugar. To conclude the week, I would go a little bit more south ad spend one night at the Playa largo resort in Key largo to enjoy the beach and water sports.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I would like to dedicate this shoutout to my husband. He is my daily motivation.
