We had the good fortune of connecting with Ati and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Ati, we’d love to hear about a book that’s had an impact on you.
Greenlights by Matthew McConaughey. It was not just an autobiography, it was an incredible collection of life experiences written in the most authentic and humble way which deeply inspires you to see how you perceive your life’s experiences can change your life in a positive way. He encourages you to transform every experience of your life into a life lesson and simply illustrates that no experience is ever wasted. He inspires you to follow what your heart and soul desire with kindness, patience and love. Life isn’t about winning, it’s about embracing the process and learning the most valuable lessons are embedded in the process, not just in the end result. When you change your perspective, what you create changes. Noting that the book serves as ” a guide about catching more greenlights and realizing that the yellows and reds eventually turn green too.”

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
I am a Food Scientist and have been working as a Holistic Health and Wellness coach since 2008.
I started my own practice by the help and encouragement of many inspiring people in my journey, but it all started with one fascinating woman, Rosaline Zuckerman, who believed in me and hired me to work with her and her husband and that’s where my journey of helping others began. I am fascinated by the art of cooking and the profound healing power of whole foods. I simply believe that the right food is indeed medicine and one person’s medicine can be another person’s poison and vice versa. My philosophy involves not only educating my clients about the nutritional importance of whole foods, but also focusing on the gift of cooking with practical skills. This approach allows individuals to create delicious and satisfying nutritious meals at home. When you are able to cook your meals, it promotes better eating habits, enhances a stronger social and family bond and certainly creates a sense of control and freedom for many.

In my work, I use my advanced knowledge of how food is grown, what it’s made out of on a molecular level, what its nutritional values are with and through my own personal experience of eating my way to wellness. What truly sets my practice apart is my belief in the uniqueness of each individual. I don’t subscribe to a one-size-fits-all approach because everyone’s challenges, background, lifestyle, stress level, the amount of trauma they have been exposed to and sensitivities differ. Therefore, I work with each client on a case-by-case basis to guiding them to reach their optimal goal. I focus on empowering individuals to access their own personal power to connect to their unique body and their capabilities. In addition, I strive to help my clients identify the root causes of their health issues by considering their emotional, spiritual and physical wellbeing.

Today, I wouldn’t have the knowledge that I have and use in my practice if it wasn’t for my own personal health issues I’ve faced throughout my life. Facing challenges that mainstream medicine couldn’t resolve compelled me to research, learn and test alternative medicine through working with Functional Physicians, Shamanic healers, trauma specialists and attending wellness and meditation retreats all over the country and globally. My personal healing journey has allowed me to have a profound understanding of holistic health and how much power we have over our own bodies and health. In addition, my own personal growth and knowledge has helped my mission to help as many people as I can when they are hopeless and desperate with unknown and untreatable chroic helath issues.

Once you understand the root cause of your challenges, you can focus on the necessary steps you can take to heal and improve effectively. Ultimately, optimal health can only be obtained when our body, mind, and spirit are in balance and harmony. This process of research, learning and experimentation has been invaluable and have taught me so much more than my entire solid academic years. All of my experiences have transformed me to be a holistic health and wellness coach. A holistic approach means considering all aspects of a whole, rather than just individual parts. A holistic approach in healthcare recognizes that physical health is intertwined with mental, emotional, social, and spiritual well-being. For example, a person’s mental health can affect their physical health, and vice versa.

Having personally experienced the frustration of dealing with health issues without clear answers, I am deeply committed to guiding people towards well-being. I offer a diverse array of health and wellness coaching services tailored to various needs of my clients; including individual or group sessions for adults, teenagers, picky eaters, families, support for women, group programs for private and non-profit organizations, corporate wellness programs, and even engaging in classroom educational services for students in 2nd through 12th grade.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I love this question. I am always in search of places both when I am traveling and where I live and I do go out of my way to find exciting and interesting places.

My favorites in Miami:

LPM Restaurant and Bar. They offer French-Mediterranean cuisine in a very pleasant vibrant atmosphere. Their menu features a variety of delicious dishes using seasonal and fresh ingredients. My personal favorites are the cauliflower salad with an almond and caraway dressing, whole sea bream baked with Provencal herbs and lemon with shaved fennel and duck confit with roasted cabbage. You can dine at their beautiful dining room, the terrace or grab a seat at the bar and be part of the excitment of the bar and the restaurant.

Los Fuegos by Francis Mallmann. Argentine cuisine with an open fire kitchen using local ingredients. Unique ambiance, delicious food and amazing service with burlesque inspired decor. While you are dining there you can also enjoy the live entertainment each evening from the adjacent famous loung called the Living Room. My favorite dishes are: octopus ‘a la plancha, wood fired roasted chicken and Mediterranean branzino.

The Living Room:
The living room is an intimate exclusive space for those who want to lounge and listen to nightly live jazz-oriented performances before descending into a lively atmosphere with world-famous DJs. My favorite nights are Tuesdays and Saturdays with the talented dynamic crooner Louis Amanti.

Favorites in Palm Beach:

Stroll down on Worth Ave and visit the Holden Luntz and JL Modern photography galleries. Both galleries are family owned and they exhibit the finest in classic and contemporary American and European photography.

You can dine at La Goulue and enjoy a nice lunch with lovely wine pairings. Gambas a la planchas: seared head-on prawns with lemon butter infusion is a must as well as their golden and red beet salad with pistachios and goat cheese.

Ann Norton Sculpture Gardens is one of my favorite cultural spots in Palm Beach. It is the former residence of sculptor Ann Weaver Norton which is listed in the National register of Historic Places. A breathtaking two acre property featuring rare tropical palm trees, native plants and sculptures. They have showcased more than 100 works by the artist with an incredibly beautiful garden with lush green setting designed in a natural and unmanicured style.

Dinner at the Blue Door restaurant is a must. Their dedication to culinary excellence, combined with the incredibly warm and professional service, truly make them an exceptional neighborhood gem in Palm Beach. Chef Nano Crespo and his wife Tamara Magalhães are commitment to using local and high-quality ingredients shines through in every dish, creating an amazing dining experience with a warm, chic and elegant atmosphere. It is always an amazing dining experience that genuinely feels like a home away from home. In my opinion, the Blue Door is undoubtedly the best restaurant in Palm Beach. Every single dish on the menu is just simply amazing and executed with so much attention and love. The shrimp escabeche starter is so delicate and sophisticated. Th flat iron half chicken is divine, succulant and it melts in your mouth, certainly not your simple chicken dish. The only place you can find wild branzino which is cooked meticulously to perfection in Palm Beach is at the Blue Door as if you are dining at one of the finest coastal Mediterranean restaurants in Europe and last but not the least, you must try their home-made pistachio ice cream and chocolate sorbet.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I wholeheartedly could write a booklet on the level of gratitude I have for the people who have contributed to me, guided and supported me in my journey. I am deeply grateful to my close friends and family: Mason Farmani, Maryam Golzari, Majid Golzari, Ensieh Tasdighi and my incredible late step-father Fereydoun Azima for their unwavering love, wisdom, support and generosity. I also would like to express my special gratitude to my amazing personal coach and mentor of twenty two years, Breck Costin, for his continuous guidance, love and support in my personal evolution and teaching me to be a better version of myself.

Furthermore, I wouldn’t be where I am and who I am if it wasn’t for the gift of a series of major health issues I’ve faced throughout my life. These challenges compelled me to broaden my horizon and seek alternative healing modalities and mentors. I am immensely grateful for the work of Dr. Joe Dispenza and his teachings, having had the privilege of attending his retreats and immersing myself in his work and teachings since 2018. I attribute a significant part of my personal and professional growth to his one of a kind teachings and meditations. Ultimately, every experience I’ve encountered has played a crucial role in shaping who I am today both in my personal and professional life. For me the most challenging experiences of my life turned out to be the most valuable life lessons which I am greatful for the rest of my life.
