We had the good fortune of connecting with Attila Yildiz and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Attila, do you have a favorite quote or affirmation?
Maya Angelou said “People will forget what you said, people will forget what you did, but people will never forget how you made them feel.” This idea is at the core of everything we do.
Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
I started real estate in 2013. It was a difficult decision for me because I had been used to working in multi-national companies with a salary and benefits. Moving to a 100% commission-based job was a difficult decision for me, but once I made that decision, I fully committed and concentrated on success.
Building a business is never a straight path. At the beginning, it was fun to be by myself. Prior to that, I worked for companies where I managed many people and many personalities. After so many years of this, it felt exhilarating to branch out on my own. The first year was challenging, but in 2021, I closed 88 transactions as an individual agent. Because of this, I started getting invited to industry events and being surrounded by agents who were incredibly successful. I was selected as one of Gary Keller’s Top Individual Agent Masterminds–an honor reserved for only about 150 Keller Williams agents. My numbers were big for me, but they were small comparatively. So I began to think about growing a team that would allow me to work smarter. I wanted to grow a business stone by stone while building a team of people who feed positivity–creating an atmosphere where everyone makes money and enjoys the process.
I’ve been in many different industries – hospitality, retail, product development – and I think I have been successful in most of them because I put daily practices in place, concentrate on people, and work to achieve results. I’m also relentless and learn whatever it takes to become successful in that business, no matter where I start.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
There are so many places to take friends in this amazing city. Miami is the perfect place to spend time with people and eat incredible food. Some of my favorite restaurants are KYU, LIRA Beirut and Komodo. I love to catch a Miami Heat game or Inter Miami match. My guests often ask to see the Design District, Wynwood and Coconut Grove over and over.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
My wife Lorena and I have been running both client experience and rental management for international clients for quite a long time and it wasn’t sustainable. It was time to get help so that we could spend time catering to the needs of our clients and focusing on relationships. We were so lucky to find such an incredible team and I would like to recognize Lorena and our team for believing in this work and working with me to build this business.
Choosing my team started with finding a strong Director of Operations. I was lucky to convince Alina Valdes to join the team. Her expertise and 20+ years experience is the backbone of our operation. From there, I found people who I enjoy being around, who share my client-centered approach and who I know will contribute to building something greater. Kate Shively’s extensive background in education equipped her with a unique set of skills that sets her apart in the industry, and with a background in international business, Simla Ozcan brings a fresh perspective to the world of property management. We challenge and care for each other– this benefits the clients and makes the work enjoyable.
