We had the good fortune of connecting with Baelondra and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Baelondra, why did you decide to pursue a creative path?
Ever since I can remember, I’ve been singing and writing songs. It’s something that I was born with and that I believe I was born to do.
Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I’m an R&B artist from South Florida. I started making music around 2 years ago after I graduated college. I was always musically inclined, I just never believed in myself enough to take the plunge and release my art to the world. The one thing that really brought me to where I am now, is the passing of Mac Miller. He was one of my favorite artists, the first artist I went to see in concert. I grew up on his music. His passing really struck me and left me reeling but it also made me think that if I died, I’d want to at least have least left the world with something inspiring. So, I took the plunge. Booked my first session in a recording studio in North Miami and put out my first song, Two Sides, in the Summer of 2018. In 2019 I released my first EP “Up Late” and a handful of singles. Fast forward to now, I most recently released my latest and greatest project, “ALL THAT MATTERS” – EP. 7 songs all made with love.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
A lot of the inspiration I take from are from songs and music that I grew up on. I have my parents to thank for that. Thanks to them I was put onto great acts like Prince, Juanes, and Beyonce. As I grew up I formed my own personal taste around those early sounds, my biggest musical inspirations now are Amy Winehouse, Partynextdoor, Jhene Aiko, & Mac Miller.
