We had the good fortune of connecting with Bby Bnz Aka Makayla Jean-Louis and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Bby Bnz, how does your business help the community?
My business is a promotion company called HoneyPot WorldWide. This company is made up of different creatives who strive to bring recognition to local talent through various private events held in South Florida. Our most successful event is called “Hoochie Fest” which was created by a creative named Ayedoe & I. Every Month we hold this private party at undisclosed venues for exclusivity. It is a fun creative event that is also designed to showcase the natural, raw local talent of South Florida. This event is also to emphasize on empowering the women of the community. Whether they want to perform as an artist or decide to participate as an adult entertainer. Our fan base is made up of woman and men who are passionate about their craft. HoneyPot Worldwide is also responsible for other events like “Keyz” which is an opportunity for different producers and engineers to meet up. The goal of this event is to have different moguls of the local music community to meet and share ideas, possibly team up in the near future. Other events like “Bonnet On” is for people to come “as they are” in bonnets. We used this event to have everyone shed the “internet façades” and perform in a natural state. All of these events are created to boost the local talent. HoneyPot stands to create comfortable environments for artists and adult entertainers to network and showcase their skills.
Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I started off as a local talent myself. I did music videos for different local artists as an on camera beauty. I would reach out to different people in the industry to be seen more on the internet . I eventually started finding my own way into the music and adult entertainment world, putting in countless hours online. I have become a big name in the adult entertainment world with a fanbase growing more each day. I also released an EP named “Drill Lullabies” which has some traction online as well. After some time I was hosting shows for big named artists like NoCap & Toosii. Being an entrepreneur and entertainer made me see how hard it was for others who started off like me. I rap and sing along with modeling for music videos and different brands. But its hard to get into these positions if you don’t have any guidance. When Honeypot Worldwide came to life, it was for others to get the recognition and promotion they deserve. For peoples voices and skills to be shared.
I’ve learned along the way many big lessons especially being in careers that are usually frowned upon. Accessibility can be your biggest contributor along with what can make your downfall. I realized a long time ago that not everyone has your best interests nor do they need to know everything you’re doing. People will be deceitful just to get information, usually for personal gain. Stealing ideas is very real and also so are rumors. I like to tell people to Surprise themselves and others by only letting people know what needs to be known. Too many people having access to you takes away from your value and can ultimately lead to your demise as a creative. Everyone wants to be each other and it’s important to continue to stand apart from the crowd. There’s always going to be people who don’t like you or what you do. And that comes with every position in life. Its your job to shut them out and continue your path. You have a divine path and the only person who can recognize that and get to that point is you. The less people know, the more you’ll be at peace to continue what you’re doing. Honeypot is about empowering people and helping people realize that they’re unique even when they don’t exactly feel like they are. As a community we should be supporting each other instead of tearing down what we created.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Some fantastic places to eat in South Florida would be “World Famous”for their amazing eggrolls. I always get a large fruit punch, red velvet cake and their yummy “burger beast” flavored eggrolls. All made in house. “La Perrada Del Gordo” is also a very yummy spot that is known for their Gordo Burgers, I like to get the beef on beef Gordo Burger. I love to visit the Morikami Japanese Garden in Boca Raton for much needed relaxation and zen. It is a great place to reset your mind and see some beautiful displays of nature. If you’re looking for nice pictures this is also the spot for you!
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I would like to dedicate my shoutout to my mother who always believed in me. Also Ayedoe, He is someone who helped bring our event together.
