We had the good fortune of connecting with Ben and Amreen Sriqui and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Ben and Amreen, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
The first part of the thought process is definitely no interest in ever working for someone else’s company. You just don’t get that same “need to win” feeling where you can really put in 100% of yourself and enjoy it. Amreen and I have always had our own things going re business, but in addition to our other endeavors we really always wanted to start a little something together. Our friend suggested fish spas, and after some thought and research it sounded like fun! It’s something we had both done overseas and really enjoyed it. I think liking your product or service is an important factor if you are going to sell it yourself. Other considerations were supply and demand, there are incredibly few fish spas in the US as compared to other countries. Location, we needed tourism, outdoor dining and flip flops. Delray Beach on Atlantic Ave. checked all of those boxes and we really love the area.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
Our work ranges from fashion stylist to fish spas with a dash of professional gambler and a 26 year lucky bamboo wholesale business. Amreen and I love each other and what we do. We try to hold ourselves to the highest standards in business, parenting, and the products or services we provide. Hopefully this does not set us apart lol, I prefer a world where we all do that. I think we get most proud and exited when our kids make honor roll but to stay on topic lets go with all the amazing customer feedback we get every day at Wtfish Lounge. Literally everyone loves it there which makes it really fun to be the ones providing them with the experience.

Was it easy and how did we overcome challenges is not a question to ask in the past tense.
Nope, not easy, probably should have just bought apple stock when it was mentioned in Forest Gump but there’s no adventure in that. We have overcome lots, but we get half a dozen new challenges a week.

Good lesson: Be very selective about the people you are counting on to make your business successful, the right team is everything.
Bad lesson: For some reason strangers will be happier about your success than most of your friends.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
First stop Hardrock Casino Hollywood because we are going to beat blackjack to finance out adventures!

Since we won so much money, we will hop on a city bus and start handing out $100 dollar bills to the the first 10 people with kids, then get off at a random stop too see what we see. We don’t see much but its getting dark and we are hungry.
Off to Miami with the interesting restaurants and nightlife like Sexy Fish Miami or The Deck at Miami Gardens. So tired, we check in to the Fontaine Bleau Miami. We will spend tomorrow on Nikki Beach, good times.

The rest of the week will be spent on Atlantic Avenue in Delray Beach because its got WTfish Lounge, the greatest place on earth!
