We had the good fortune of connecting with Benjamin Schrank and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Benjamin, how do you think about risk?
I’ve always been a risk taker, since childhood. From jumping off of the roof into the pool or raising go carts, more recently my risk taking has been focused on my career, and building something on my own.
What should our readers know about your business?
LuNo Culinary was founded on a few basic principles; start with great ingredients, respect them and serve the best final product possible, from foie gras to chicken nuggets. The customer experience must be perfect and memorable every time from the first consultation all the way to the invoicing and cleaning up at the end of an event. The company started out doing private dinners and catered events and eventually grew to include our healthy meal delivery service as well as catering to the private yacht and jet communities.
I’ve learned along the way how to manage my business and the intricacies of growing my client list while silently competing amongst the top personal chefs in south florida.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
My partner and i have a couple of spots that we like to bring friends and family when visiting, our usual go to is take to at the Conrad hotel Fort Lauderdale beach, the service and food never disappoint nor does the angry chicken or dirty martinis.
Nobody on Miami Beach is always a great experience, my dear friend Jake was the exec chef there for 5 years until departing last week for new venture, we will still go on occasion, but its. It going to be the same without Jake at the helm.
Burritos from bodega are never a bad idea, and we are still searching for the perfect smash burger
Delaney and i typically cook at home, i bring lots of extras home after we cook for the meal plan, go our fridge is always stocked with great healthy ingredients. So, dinner at our house , with cocktails in the backyard under the mango and cocnut trees is always a great option.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
Shout out to my partner, Delaney for her unwavering support throughout the growth of LuNo Culinary. A great deal of my success is owed to her, not only for the perfect logo and website she created, but also for holding down the house and supporting the kids while I’m out working events and building brand awareness.
