We had the good fortune of connecting with Bettina Benizri and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Bettina, have there been any changes in how you think about work-life balance?
I once went to a conference where the subject of the speaker was: “Is there such a thing as a work life balance?” In my opinion, same as the speaker’s, there isn’t a “balance” to anything in life, you just got to make it work with what works at the time. Nothing ever really goes to plan in life and nothing is ever easy, some weeks you’re able to workout 4-5 times a week with a beautiful diet and other times you’re lucky you’re able to have time to walk the dog and eat a vegetable. Life’s hard and if you want to succeed in business, it’s going to get A LOT HARDER. You’re going to most probably lose a lot of “friends” and receive a lot of uncalled for opinions but that’s just part of the ladder and it shouldn’t affect your “balance.” If wedding planning taught me anything, it’s that no matter how debilitating the problem might feel at the time, there is ALWAYS a solution (think hurricane/tropical storm heading straight toward you with 150 guests watching your every step and still surviving with a 5 star review) …you just have to remain calm, take a deep breath and plan out the options for your next step. So what do I do to keep a work life balance? Remain calm, work out/meditate, and have an amazing team. Also to note, my “balance” doesn’t mean it’s going to be the same as your balance but my true secret sauce for my success of balancing FOUR businesses is my amazingly supportive team, shout out to amazing Busy Bee’s Team, Adriana and my parents. By having a strong and hard working team that not only love and support my business but also my drive for success, that has truly enabled my ability to grow as an entrepreneur. Without my team, I am just a person stressed out of her mind hoping she can push through all the whirlwinds life has thrown BUT with my team, I am a strong woman who feels unstoppable because of the love, support and confidence constantly displayed no matter the hurdle. Your team is just as strong as you are so my biggest recommendation for one day finding your own work life balance is having a strong team that not only works hard but also supports each other and care for each other, we’re all in this together so might as well make the best of it.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
By business name people know me as Busy Bee’s Events, the wedding and event planner. But to me, in my heart, I’m an entrepreneur growing my brand and even identity as the time continues. Years ago I created Busy Bee’s Events because I love planning, especially wedding planning. I am super organized, very thorough, and known for a loud coach-like voice (trust me when I say that is a great planner trait). I started Busy Bee’s Events because I wanted to help as many couples as I possibly can by providing not only top quality customer service with amazing communication but also wanting to provide a service where the couple felt special and like they didn’t have to worry about a single thing on their wedding day. I know to some that might seem like a given feeling for any wedding planner but that’s unfortunately not the case. There isn’t any type of wedding police or regulating system for the wedding world so there are unfortunately a lot of “fake” / spam vendors that take advantage of unknowing couples trying to save on their big day and the couple unfortunately find out on their wedding day that they have been lied to or worse…ripped off with a disappearing vendor. The moment I realized this was happening in the wedding world, I chose to speak out on my social media platforms, specifically with Instagram. On Tuesdays, I made a segment called #trafficjamtuesdays (i’m always in Florida traffic jams so I only have time to record in my car). #trafficjamtuesdays is a weekly segment that helps wedding couples learn the hard truths about the wedding world without any kind of “fluff.” Even if the truth causes any negative feelings, I’ll still say it because it’s honest and it’s real, not because I am trying to avoid hurting anyones feelings. Wedding planning gets a lot harder especially when you start on the wrong foot so i’d rather couples be mad and know the truth than suffer with a lie. I found my voice on Instagram and through that I found myself. I found myself wanting to help more couples in more ways than just my Busy Bee services and #trafficjamtuesdays so I made an online wedding planning course for those who are not able to afford a wedding planner because I really do care for others and I really want to help others, ESPECIALLY SINCE EVERYONE TRULY NEEDS HELP WITH THEIR WEDDING PLANNING (no matter how much time you have on your hands, this wedding industry is full of scammers ready to take your money ). My course is a budget friendly wedding planning course that is dedicated to teaching brides and grooms how to plan their wedding the right way and with minimal stress with our step by step process that we use with our Busy Bee full service clients. The course also includes a weekly Zoom call with yours truly answering any questions you might have although the course is over 40 sections long with thorough videos, written materials, print outs, tips and tricks on finding vendors and saving on budget, as well as so much more. Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
My favorite city in Florida is Fort Lauderdale. It is the most diversified and accepting of cities and I just love it here. From kayaking, scuba diving, wine garden hopping, to amazing food cultures, there really isn’t much you can’t do in Fort Lauderdale.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
To be completely honest, the most important support system that has constantly encouraged me and supported me through every endeavor is my parents. They are the true rockstars and I know I am so lucky to be able to say that both my parents have been a pivotal contribution to my drive for success and I wanted to take this opportunity to thank them. It certainly hasn’t been easy going through the hurdles of being an entrepreneur but something that has always assisted with my persistence and drive for success is knowing that at the end of the day, my parents will at least be there supporting me and encouraging me to be the best I can be and so much more. Thank you mom and dad, I love you.
