We had the good fortune of connecting with Bianca Jazmine and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Bianca, why did you pursue a creative career?
I chose to pursue a creative career to make a difference and share my ideas. I’m a firm believer in authenticity and creativity, and if I can inspire anyone to allow their truest self to show, or try something they didn’t believe they could do – I know I’ve done my job. I hope that through my writing I can help others step into their best selves. To create is an act of love, not just for yourself, but for the world. To produce something entirely new and add to this eternal cloud of art and ideas – that is love! It’s a contribution to humankind. I feel humans are naturally inclined towards creativity in a multitude of ways, some of which we consider artistic. From our literal birth to the way we all leave our personal mark on this world, creation is ingrained in us!

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I am a singer-songwriter in an indie band! My lyrics are an important part of my songwriting process, and I believe they’re what set me apart from others. The messages I communicate in my music are that of empathy & perspective, and ask the listener to consider their life from a new angle. We have been doing a lot of writing lately, and are excited to share so many new songs with you soon! Getting to this point has certainly come with its fair share of challenges. In the beginning of my journey, I relied a lot on what other producers believed to be my vision. I’ve learned how to speak up for myself and be my own advocate in the creative process. I do love collaboration, but at first I really did not know how to communicate what I wanted, and felt like I was never listened to. It’s been a lesson learned that’s affected my life in so many ways outside of my career! My personality has grown to be so much stronger, and I confidently speak my mind and share what my needs are without being weak or overbearing. A huge proponent of my story and brand is growth. When you awaken to new perspectives in your life, you begin to unlearn toxic patterns and self-sabotaging tendencies. I had to realize that I only have one round on this earth as Bianca Jazmine, so I better make it the best and most authentic experience I can. As an empathetic person, learning the balance between my own needs and others’ needs really set my path in the right direction, and that’s something that definitely shows itself in my writing.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
My family has been an amazing support system throughout this journey. Choosing a less secure route for a career is traditionally frowned upon by one’s family, but my parents have really pushed me to believe in myself and my music. From day one, I was always singing or expressing myself creatively; they recognized that quality in me and helped me realize my purpose!
