We had the good fortune of connecting with Bluhauz and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Bluhauz, what is the most important factor behind your success?
I know it can sound cliche, but cliches are there for a reason. The most important factor behind anything we want to achieve is to never give up and trust completely in what you’re doing. Listen to what your loved ones have to say, take it in, and then make it your own. Always believe in yourself and that you can achieve what you put your mind into. Never be afraid to aim as high as you can and put all your energy and actions into making it happen. It’s not only thinking about it, but feeling it, living it, doing it, absolutely make your lifestyle around those goals. Most of what I can call successful moments in my life happened that way. When I was 24 years old I was helping Berklee College of Music bring Jimmy Page to our commencement ceremony where I performed what I believe was one of the best concerts of my career, then I was on a plane going to perform at Lollapalooza Argentina and Chile with my rock band Stone Giant, flying to London to record at Abbey Road, producing concerts with Owl Master Booking for Seu Jorge, Fito Paez, Julieta Venegas, and now I find myself living in Miami with my own companies LoSweet Records and After College Music and about to launch my first solo album this coming August 6th under my artist name Bluhauz. This is a consequence of never giving up and I still have so much more to do and accomplish. I don’t even feel close to where I am going and what I set myself to do back when I was 18 and I left home with my guitar to move to Boston and start Berklee College of Music. Aspiring to be a recording and tourist artist is not an easy road and you must be in it for the long run and completely passionate and devoted to it in order to achieve this life. I am excited to see what comes my way and what I make from it. Whatever your age is, your ethnicity, your location, if you have a strong dream and passion that you strongly believe you have what it takes to get there, dont ever ever f****g stop no matter the circumstance. Life has its ways of giving it to you when you’re ready.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I am a musician who started off with the dream of being a touring and recording artists like the great bands and artists I’ve heard and seen throughout my life. Rock and roll was what mainly drove me to completely give myself to music and this type of lifestyle. The moment I heard Jimi Hendrix and Led Zeppelin, then that was it for me. I had to know where that was coming from and how could I be a part of it. How could I recreate those sounds and energy. The power and fulfillment I feel when I am on stage connected to the moment is something very special to me that is hard to grasp and describe. It’s an out of body experience. Along the way I started expanding my abilities and knowledge and now I don’t see myself just as a guitarist or singer. I have put myself in every situation within the music industry by taking into action many of my expertise that I learned from life and of course at Berklee College of Music. Some of these experiences come from keeping an open mind and I have been involved with songwriting, music production, session work, management and booking, legal aspects, contracts, concert productions, acting, consulting, music promotion, among many aspects of the music industry. It’s very important to know these different things of your career and how you can maximize your knowledge and contacts. You never know when these things will come in handy. Nothing in this life is easy and specially in this pursuit of becoming a musician and everything that has to do with this industry. But you must push hard and don’t let go because your moment is there waiting for you and it will all depend on how ready you are and where did you put your hours and energy. Give yourself completely, but hey only if you truly feel the passion, not just for the quick recognition or fame, because that ends very quickly if you are there for that reason. Even though I’ve been around a lot, I feel I have only just began. I saw BB King perform in Boston and he was 83 years old. And now artists feel like they have to make it at 19 or nothing. You can literally do it any time! You decide how you want to go about this. Shut the voices making you doubt and just go for it.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Just go to the Hard Rock Hotel in Hollywood, FL they have everything you need from live music, good drinks, company, cigars, restaurants, and so on! haha

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
Even though this quest has to start within yourself and a strong belief in you as an individual, you must go out and find a strong team of likeminded loving people who will nurture what you are and will work together towards the same goal. Always cherish and respect your team and observe who stays with you along the years. Every successful company, sports team, band, or anything is a consequence of expert teamwork and communication. It is very hard to thank everyone and I don’t want to leave anyone behind who has been there with me so I am just going to keep it simple and thank everyone who has been with me since the beginning all my friends, my family, my parents and brother and sister who are solid rocks in believing in me and helping me along the way, all the bandmates I’ve had in all the bands I’ve made in my life, all my associates, my haters, my lovers, everybody who has taught me a lesson either by good or bad means. Everyone deserves credit. So instead of naming people, if you are reading this and you feel identified and part of my growth, then this credit is for you.
