We had the good fortune of connecting with Bobby Walters and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Bobby, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
I always had a love for taking photos from a very young age. As from the boy scouts days, when i earned my photographers badge. Photos always capture and preserve a moment in time and i told my self i always wanted to take photos as long as i can. AS far as it goes with starting my business, i saw persons making money from this and told myself i can do this as well, on a professional level. So i bought my first DSLR camera the Nikon d3200 when i was in New York. I bought a few online photography courses and watched plenty Youtube videos from alot of well know photographers. After asking a few of my friends to practice on them, they were impressed and told me i should go further. I got a logo designed by a good friend of mine and i adopted the slogan, capturing the beauty, the emotion, the memories. After a few years i modified it to capturing the beauty, emotion, memories.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
i am very excited to be where i am after 5 years shooting. I have progressed very quickly in such a short time, in terms of improving my skills in photography and Looking back at where i had first started. I am where i am today with alot of patience, practice, honesty and professionalism. It wasn’t an easy road as there are alot of not so friendly persons, who thrive on seeing you fail and would scandal your name. Then they are some who are happy to assist you and are proud to see you thrive. What i have learned is that everyone is not your friend, they may seem so in the beginning, but after some see you excel quicker than them, they want to bring your down. I have lost a few persons along the way, where some have said that i have “bad talked” them with other photographers and models, which was never the case. My brand means alot to me and i make sure i maintain the standard i want for myself out there. Working with me, you are guaranteed a fun filled, professional and memorable experience and you will always get my best product delivered to you.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Ares to visit here is definitely the beach. We have the best beach in the world “Browne’s Beach”. Calm blue, crystal clear waters. We have the Oistins Bay are which is the place to be for grilled or fried fish especially on Friday and Saturday Nights. Other than the beach, we have the Animal Flower cave. The Heritage Railway on St.Nicholas Abbey and at that same location on Cherry tree hill you have a wonderful view of the East Coast of Barbados. We also have love Botanical places, like the Andromeda Gardens, Hunte Gardes, The FLower Forest and Welchman Hally Gully. We also have Harrison’s Cave, formed out of Limestone, Its a must visit. Last but not least, you must try our very own Banks Beer.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
My recognition would go out to my family, From my dad in the early years who bought me my first film camera. My wife who continues to encourage me to push harder to be the best i can be.
