We had the good fortune of connecting with Bonnie Roseman and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Bonnie, maybe we can start at the very start – the idea – how did you come up with the idea for your business?
My first job was selling photocopiers that I dragged around Los Angeles. I out performed all the sales guys because i was so good at following up and loved engaging with people. Not long after, I was recruited by an art gallery owner who recognized my keen eye and enthusiasm for art. I learned a lot and expanded my business from art to “art to wear” when I set out to represent artisans in all the fashion mediums, including gorgeous wovens and knits, hand painted and embroidered fabrications, and creative leather treatments. I joined forces with creative and talented artisans from across the globe and became a traveling boutique. Several years later I created my own collections for Home Shopping Network (HSN) and Home Shopping Europe.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
Entrepreneur women have drive and steadfastness in their belief that they can be independent and walk a path of their own. I carved a niche that took advantage of my energy and curiosity. I was lucky to have had a loving and helpful family and husband/partner. I knew as a child that i loved to dress my mother and sisters and that the result was pleasing. The segue into fashion early in my career was intuitive.

Challenges are constant, and are part of business; flexibility and creativeness help to meet those challenges. I found imaginative ways to stay in business during and after my own personal disappointments, social and political upheavals, economic downturns, 9-11 and more recently, the Co-vid 19 Shutdown, Once the epidemic became a pandemic everything stopped. I realized in order to survive the business shutdown I would need to engage with my clients and offer them something rewarding and worthwhile. So that summer 2020, I produced 71 episodes of “Bonnie Roseman’s Fashion Buzz” that aired live on YouTube. My clients loved watching me create ensembles and were inspired to experiment with their own clothes. I then produced a short film, “Days of My Life”. It is a seven minute story of my life that won acclaim and award at film festivals for its inspirational theme to follow ones’ dreams. See link: https://youtu.be/uxKnSNpvZRY. My experiences and challenges have given me resilience and faith that I will work my way through and not just survive, but also shine! Never give up!

I enjoy working with video and also produced “the Journey of the Magical Scarf”, which highlights one of my signature collections of scarves, shawls and throws made of silk and hand painted silicone. View it at: https://youtu.be/VyZqpmN9t70

Moving on, I searched for a way to enhance my business. I discovered a new brand of life style, ath-leisure wear and show it with my couture collection. The SAVVI leggings and tops come in fabulous colors and fabrics and complement one of a kind jackets, coats, sweaters and accessories from my BLT couture collection. Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I am the gal to answer what to do in Palm Beach and surroundings! Since 2015, I have let listeners of Palm Beach’s Legends Radio know about the current local events during a morning spot on Legends Radio called “Bonnie’s Buzz about Town”. LegendsRadio.com live streams and also has its own free app.

I would definitely check out the musical arenas: the Kravis Center for Performing Arts in Palm Beach; the Wick Theater in Boca Raton; the Jupiter Maltz Theater in Jupiter, and Drama Works in West Palm Beach.

Before you visit any of the fabulous private art galleries, you must check out Palm Beach’s own founder’s Flagler Musuem where Henry Flagler lived. And, of course, the beautiful world famous art museum, the Norton is a must.

For shopping, Worth Ave in Palm Beach, is beautiful. And, there are great shops in Royal Poinciana Plaza and Poinciana Ave…..love Sprinkles Ice Cream.

We’d take a stroll through Antique Row in West Palm Beach…..

And, we’d check out the best restaurants and Hotels like the Breakers, which isn’t to be missed.
Other sites of interest include the Brazilian Court, The Chesterfield and the White Elephant Hotel, and last but least, The Colony Hotel.

For great people-watching in Palm Beach we’d try Lola 41, Buccann, Taboo, the Palm Beach Grill & Honor Bar, and Cafe Europe.

For all you foodies, West Palm Beach hosts Cafe Centro, Table 26, Las Sirenas, and Ben Hotel and Rooftop Bar.

And, if the music moves you, try dancing at Le Bar Thursday, Friday and Saturday, and Avocado Grill on Sunday. Hear the dance beat on Saturday and Sunday at Ben Rooftop and Cucina.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
My first husband, Alan, was so helpful. He always cheered me on and supported our business efforts. He encouraged me to follow my dreams and helped me in so many ways. We bounced ideas around. We followed our passions and were able to merge them into our business. We met fabulous people, some clients, some artists, and some who became friends. We worked hard, played hard, and were grateful to have integrated our skills and dreams.
