We had the good fortune of connecting with Bouquet Kramek and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Bouquet, how has your background shaped the person you are today?
I am originally from Bangkok, Thailand, which is rich in culture and history…also known for great food! My family was a strictly conservative family, but I had a different concept of my life after graduating high school. I started as a manager of a dance group in college, that is how I got more involved in event and portrait photography.

I moved to the USA when I was 22 years old. I cannot deny that my family is a huge impact on who I am today. Being a first-generation immigrant definitely has taught me to value both cultures and work really hard to prove myself. I realized the quality I have gained and I imply it in everyday life.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
My journey is definitely not a smooth road. I would say transitions were the hardest part to overcome. I moved from Thailand to the U.S., started from zero. If you asked me two years ago, I would never have thought of becoming a full-time photographer. I have learned that if you know what your passion is, you should envision where you want to be, keep working toward it, day in and day out, you will get there. Also, counting your blessings in life is a way to stay motivated and positive.

What sets me apart from others is my crafts. I do not define my style into one category only. I am an artist and each session has a uniqueness of its own. I edit each session according to the subjective selection as each session is my thumbprint of photographs. Having a keen eye for detail to ensure all elements of a photo are perfectly blended to convey the appropriate vision and/or message is my strong suit, as well as having a great attitude is something I am proud of. I am there not just to capture the moment, but to capture a vibe, so I always bring my best to the session.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
If you are into art and history as well as beautiful architecture like me, these places would be my recommendation; Vizcaya Museum & Gardens, Wynwood Walls, Miami Design District, The Bass contemporary art museum, Venetian Pool, Museum of Contemporary Art, ARTECHOUSE Miami.

For Food & Drink: Cubaocho Museum & Performing Arts Center, Bar Bevy, Swan restaurant, Oasis Wynwood, The River Oyster Bar, Bachour, Dior cafe, CHICA Miami, Esotico, La Otra Miami Wynwood, and Amara at Paraiso.

These places are very picturesque, you won’t be disappointed. Also, don’t forget to spare a day (or two) chilling and exploring Miami beach ANDDDD definitely check out Little Havana and bar hop for Cuban jazz music. We had a blast!

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I’d like to dedicate my shoutout to my grandmother. We spent a lot of time together since my parents were working a lot. She is a great role model for a strong, independent woman who survived an abusive relationship, the deaths of her children, and still provided for the family.

Another one who deserves credit is my husband. He is the one who is there to hold and comfort me when I am at my lowest, and the one who is always ready to cheer me up. I know who to turn to when things get tough. I feel so blessed to have him by my side. He always puts us first. Through it all, my husband is my rock.
