We had the good fortune of connecting with Brandon Meneses and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Brandon, what habits do you feel helped you succeed?
The habits which helped me succeed include my consistency with my morning rituals and planning each day the night before. I wake up everyday at 5am. I am in the gym by 5:30am and meditating for 15 minutes by 6:45am. I then journal my future as if it already happened and am on my computer reviewing the new inventory by 7am. Following this morning ritual every single day has allowed me to get so far ahead at such a young age. A incredible successful real estate agent once told me “Your day starts the night before.” Meaning every night he plans his next day so from the moment he wakes up he is already crystal clear on what his day will look like. By following this habit, I am always on A-game with what the craziness of real estate will bring each day. These two habits have been the focal point of why I am ahead in my industry at such a young age. I am currently 23 years old with just under $20 million under contract and closed for 2022 so far and I am only in February. Life has continually taught me habits are the foundation for success.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
I started real estate at the shy age of 17 years old. I was still in high school and knew absolutely nothing about the real world much less real estate itself. I vividly remember walking into my haircut appointment one day after school. I was late and came running into the barbershop apologizing to my barber. As my barber began cutting my hair, in came walking a tall gentlemen by the name of Jonathan. His suit was tailored perfectly to his body with his initials on the each cuff. At the time, I barely had more than $500 to my name. A suit like his was a muse for me. I was captivated by his energy. He sat down next to me to begin his haircut. His barber asked “How is business big Jon?”. To which Jonathan replied “Business is booming. I am closing on 3 homes this week.” I mustered up the courage to ask him about his profession to which he replied “I sell real estate.” In that moment, I knew real estate would be my gateway to rise up in life. I ended up working for Jonathan for just under 3 years starting out as an intern, upgrading to his main assistant, and finally rising up as a top agent on his team. By the time I was 19 years old, I had already listed my first luxury homes for $1,250,000 and $3,900,000. Real estate allowed me to spread my wings as far as the eye can go and fly as high as my mind could take me. I was exposed to a world of possibilities where I began learning the power of investing, running a business, and growing client relationships. By the age of 20 years old, I found myself relocating to Beverly Hills. I had just joined a luxury brokerage by the name of The Agency in South Florida because their headquarters was in Beverly Hills. I always knew my goal was to sell luxury real estate in Los Angeles. The city of Angels is known as one of the, if not the, epicenter for luxury real estate in the United States. Within my first 12 months of getting licensed in California, I successfully sold over $12 million dollars worth of real estate. Having moved here knowing no one and with the pandemic eventually coming in the near future, the odds were stacked against me with succeeding. Time and time again, life has taught me the power of determination and consistency. It is in the toughest of times where I double down on my habits and consistency.

I currently sit here as a top agent with a long, incredible road ahead of me. I have had the pleasure of selling my first home ever in Los Angeles right in Beverly Hills. I successfully sold my first listing in Los Angeles in 4 days with multiple offers. I am now having the biggest year yet and the year has only just gotten started. The road has been anything short of numerous blessings yet it has also brought its own obstacles. I have had numerous deals lost behind the scenes. I have also messed up on many client opportunities. I had mistakingly spoken about markets I knew nothing about in the past. Starting out in Los Angeles was like starting out in real estate as a new agent. I had to learn new markets, contracts, and ways of communicating with people.

I have now been selling real estate in Los Angeles for a few years now and I would not change a thing from my past thus far. Every obstacle served me for the better. One of my favorite Tony Robbin’s quotes to live by is “Life is happening for you not to you.”

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
If my actual best friend, Sebastian, was visiting Los Angeles for 1 week, I would start by taking him to see the most insane homes ever. I truly feel part of the magic of Los Angeles are the hills and views that come with it. Standing the edge of these homes in the hills is like standing on top of the world. Los Angeles is know to have some of the best Mexican food in the United States because we are so close to Mexico. I would definitely aim to take Sebastian to the best food trucks there are. We would visit Malibu – specifically Billionaire’s row where all the celebrities and businessman leave. The allure of Malibu is so magical. Being only 30 minutes from Los Angeles, visitors are transported to the most serene landscaping possible. I would then focus on taking Sebastian to the all the glitzy and glamorous city centers such as Rodeo Drive. Part of the magic of Los Angeles is the fact the whole world is here including some of the most powerful people in the world. Rodeo serves as a symbol for this and is inspiring to see such incredible people come together in a small area. Of course, no trip is complete without visiting Downtown LA also known as the West Coast New York. It really is like a concrete jungle growing so much.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I’d first and foremost love to give credit to my immediate family. My incredible partner, Dennis, has been my North Star since day one. Coming to LA not knowing a single soul besides him and him to now have a Rolodex of notable individuals has been nothing short of an incredible feat for myself. Without Dennis’ support and help in real estate, I really don’t think I would be where I am in such a short time. He is poised to continue succeeding in real estate too.

Now to my mom – Jasmin, sister – Janelle, and dad – Franklin. They are my day one crew. They’ve been there with me since real estate was ever a thought in my mind. I still remember the days of my mom and sister helping me pay for my gas because I had no money left. They have been there for me through the roughest of patches in my adolescent years and without them I don’t think I would have made it to my real estate chapter of my life. My dad deserves an award alone for always being so supportive towards me even when I came out of the closet. Although he lives in New York, anytime we travel we always make the most effort to see him. I am blessed to have the most incredible family.
