We had the good fortune of connecting with Brandon Richardson and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Brandon, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
My thought process behind starting my own business was probably like most people, I was scared of failing. But I knew failure wasn’t an option for me, specially after my military service was completed. I always knew I wanted to construct a name for myself by transition from one career to my own career in this industry. I did have a lot of discussions with my girlfriend who like my business partner and Bryant “B Mac” McKinnie who influenced me to take my position more seriously. As a father, veteran, actor and an entrepreneur I wanted to teach my son how to produce generational wealth.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I love what I do, and have been doing it for as long as I can remember. I guess you can say it the discipline of me that I can transition between fields. From acting to help starting different companies, I learn the ups and downs of the entertainment industry. Nothing is ever guaranteed, and you have to take some losses to make a greater comeback I called that growth. Because you won’t learn from your mistakes, if you never had a downfall. I started to use my image as the face of my own business for recognition. As I travel a lot doing different vendors I settled on building business and friendly relationships with my clients who help me push my brands or other people brands to the next level. It always good to have a great support system to push, to motivate, if you want a successful business or career. I learn that consumers will buy and purchase if they see well known celebrities or influencers promoting and using your products. So social media plays a huge part as well to reach out to area that you didn’t know existed. I am launching a new hookah line called, Urban Smoke LLC right here in Miami.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Oh I love Miami so I would take them to Wynwood to the restaurant called Miam Cafe. Their breakfast is amazing to me, let alone Wynwood Art District for the artistic experience. I also love these places in Miami Beach, one called the Basement Miami where you can ice skate, bowl or even enjoy dancing since they have a nightclub as well. The other place is on Lincoln Road called, DVine Hookah Lounge right in the opening of the Lincoln Road mall. Where you can eat, drink, and smoke hookah outside while enjoying the beautiful sunshine of Florida.

My honorable mentions are Big Pink, Prime Italian Miami, and Bar One Miami Beach who is own by Peter Thomas from the Real Housewives of Atlanta.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Again I wanted to give credit to my girlfriend and Bryant “B. Mac” McKinnie for believing and inspiring me. I also wanted to shoutout my parents, family members and friends who supported me throughout the years.
