We had the good fortune of connecting with Brandy Henry-Linton and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Brandy, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
The idea to start a business solely came from my book series. I figured it would be a great way for me to promote my book and allow people to get to know me as well as my process. Once I had decided that, all of these other ideas came into play for products and events too.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
The Young Bird Series is the first published of my work and they’re just the beginning. On my website it highlights all of the things that I love and believe are important, such as education and women supporting women. I hope that I am able to help others in their journey to pursue writing and/or publishing. Check us out!

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I would like to give thanks and a shoutout in memory of my mother-in-law Glynda Linton. She was the true embodiment of a strong black woman, she was so very supportive and loving and also an author. I would also like to shoutout Monique Hardy, my best friend for just being an all around BOSS. She is the CEO of ViaSwift Creactions.
