We had the good fortune of connecting with Brandy Smith LeCours and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Brandy, what’s the most difficult decision you’ve ever had to make?
I think the most difficult decision I had to make was to just decide to move forward with business without knowing exactly what the future holds.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I’ve always had the desire to bake. I started out making Christmas cookies with my family every year. When I was able to use the oven on my own I dove into baking basic cakes and breads. But it wasn’t until after I had my very own family that I decided to look into baking full time. I wanted to be able to make my own schedule. I didn’t even know where to start. I sat down opened YouTube and went to work finding out everything I could about cake decorating, design and baking . It was one of the best decisions I’ve ever made. Everything I learned was on my own. In my own time. It was challenging. I spend so many nights tossing out recipes that didn’t work. I didn’t let that stop me. I kept reminding myself that I am trying and as long as I keep going I will get to where I want to be.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Wow! I live right outside Philadelphia. There is so many things to do here. But honestly I’d probably take her to museums, to see the liberty bell and then to a local mom and pop eatery for dinner. We especially love Moustaki Authentic Gyros. They have some of the best Greek food around.
