We had the good fortune of connecting with Bree Gordon Lukosavich and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Bree, why did you pursue a creative career?
I am the luckiest person in the world to be able to pursue an artistic and creative career. Being able to put my passion to work if such a gift, and having the opportunity to use my music to help others is an absolute honor. Music and creativity gave me a voice, allowed me to be seen and heard and created opportunities and connections for me throughout my life. Knowing that I could be the person who provides this opportunity to another through music is an incredible feeling.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
Creative Arts Therapies of the Palm Beaches is a private practice based in South Florida that develops music and art therapy programs in medical, educational and community based settings. Our practice is 100% community based which allows us to best meet the needs of our clients and patients, no matter their stage of health or wellness. Obviously being a service based business, specializing in face to face human connection, the pandemic presented quite a challenge to us as a business and also to our patients and clients who suffered from the lack of social and creative engagement. Partnering with local organizations and non-profits to transition programs from in person to virtual allowed us to expand our creativity and connection in a time when the community needed it most. Our business grew throughout 2020 and by the time programs returned in person in 2021, we were serving more clients than ever before.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
What a tough question! A highlight for any out of town’er is of course our beautiful coastline. I would build in as much beach time as possible, including dining along the shore at Benny’s on the Beach, Dune Deck Cafe, and Latitudes in Highland Beach. For nightlife, you can’t beat Atlantic Ave or Clematis. Depending on the time of year, combining live music like Sunfest, Clematis by Night or a concert at Tin Roof would make for an ideal evening out.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I would like to dedicate this shoutout to my Mom and my Grandma, who recently passed. These woman guided my path with their strength, resilience, hard work and compassion. I would not have the drive I have today without their example and encouragement.
