We had the good fortune of connecting with Breon Cox and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Breon, can you talk to us a bit about the social impact of your business?
My business helps the community by providing student-athletes in the glades region with spiritual, mental, and physical growth. As well as, creating realistic opportunities for each athlete to play collegiate baseball.
Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
What sets Humble Ambition Athletics apart from other travel baseball organizations is our intimacy with each athlete. Our goal is to give the love of Christ to each child regardless of skill set or ability. We take pride in faith, integrity, and Family. At “HA” we are excited to deliver a consistent level of productivity in development that translates both on and off the playing field. We have only been around since 2016 and we have given every senior who wanted to play collegiate baseball an opportunity too. Our pipeline has expanded from Belle Glade to Orlando. God has blessed us beyond my wildest dreams. The adversity that I endured in my HS career has been a huge motivating factor in the love I share with all of my athletes. Most people didn’t know this but I only pitched 23 innings in my HS career and only played 1 inning as a Jr., and still played at the Division I level. These life changing trials have helped me to encourage and motivate each and every athlete I coach, train, or mentor. I overcome the challenges of the business through my own triumphs I have faced in life, and it pushes me to be triumphant in the challenges I face in my business today. Above all, my faith in Christ is what ultimately gets me through business and life’s daily battles. A few of the lessons I’ve learned along the way are “The more you listen the more you learn”, “What is Can’t if God said I can do All things?”, and “Wisdom doesn’t come with time it comes with effort”. These 3 lessons are literally verbal depictions of what I have gone through in life, business, and sport. What Humble Ambition shows the world is that through obedience to Christ and diligently serving him and others brings blessings and favor that is unexplainable. The world should know about “HA” is that God is the reason for our success and what you see is just a byproduct of living holy and being obedient to the word of God.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
This is a funny question because of our geographic location. So I will give you my favorite eateries and relaxation spots. To start our day I would take you to Beef O’Brady’s for a traditional American breakfast, if you like tacos for breakfast then we have Primo’s which is inside of a gas station and they are amazing. For lunch I have a few of my fav’s Big Eater’s or Fairgrounds Tacos. To end our night its definitely Juilio’s Cafe Tropical for an authentic cuban cuisine, The Galley which sits right on Lake O, or Sunrise which is a town favorite for a Mex-american style restaurant. There aren’t many “fun spots” in the Glades but if you want to relax I would take you to “The dike” for a dock side view of Lake O (Lake Okeechobee) . If your with me though it’s nothing like being on that diamond and just getting better…
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
There are a group of people who have played an intricate role in the success of my business. I would like thank my Lord and savior Jesus Christ for his Grace and Mercy, and blessing me with the gifts that I have. The first person I would like to thank is my wife Christina Cox, she was so supportive of me in 2016 when we were just friends and she has been by side ever since, without her pushing me and keeping me organized and punctual IDK where me or Humble Ambition Athletics would be. Also I want to thank my parents Eugene and Iris Cox, Keith and Pamela White for raising me in to the man that I am today. I want to thank my Uncle Timbo, Auntie Malika, Uncle Andy, Auntie Tina, Auntie Eva, and Uncle Jeff. These people were extensions of my parents who were extremely vital to my success today. A few other people deserve to be recognized are my cousins Joshua Cox, Trinity Cox, Tempres Cox, Deshae Wallace, and Courtney Cohen. I would also like to recognize Willie Hill, Aaron Braithwaite, Brent Washington Jr., Kyle Snedecor, Randall Parrish, Devon Scott, and Bill Murphy for believing in me and my passion to impact this next generation. From the bottom of my heart I thank you all and I love you for being behind me 110 percent and never holding back with me. Without you all pushing me and supporting me from the beginning “HA” wouldn’t be where it is today! Thank you
