We had the good fortune of connecting with Brett Witten and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Brett, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
I wanted to turn my passion into a career. Ever since I was young I wanted to start my own photography company. The thrill of having my name on a business was a dream of mine. I grew up taking photographs and eventually went to college for it. While in college I loved music and decided I wanted to photograph bands. I started out going to dive bars with a stage and took photos of the bands that would play. I started building a portfolio and eventually was hired by bands to cover their concerts. Flash forward 13 years and I now have my own business and loving what I do.
Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
Exceptional images deserve an exceptional presentation. My passion is capturing great moments by conveying a vision – your vision – in a way that is aesthetically pleasing-and compelling to an external observer. To approach each and every project in a manner that shows respect for both the subject and the clients goal.
My professional experience has provided dynamic photographic styles for services including: Real Estate, Commercial, Event and Concert. I pride myself on the ability to be innovative in the moment; to make the most of every photo by being creative and innovative in my approach and to have a keen eye for lighting, depth, and composition.
I got to where I am today with dedication and hard work. Yes I love what I do and it’s my passion but making the decision to turn a passion into a career was not easy.
In the beginning it takes a few years to get your name out there and build a business. You have to spend 40+ hours a week branding yourself and getting out of your comfort zone in order for people to know who you are. It wasn’t easy at first but eventually your hard work will pay off.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Whenever I have people visiting, the Fort Lauderdale Beach is a must. There is also, Outdoor parks, Concerts, events happening all the time for all ages, brightline to Miami and to Orlando. It’s just a wonderful place to live, work and raise a family:).
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I would love to send a shoutout to my parents for all the love and support they have given me. They made it possible for me to turn my passion into a career. I also want to send a shoutout to my fiancé and my son, Thank you for believing in me and pushing me to be the best version of myself.
