We had the good fortune of connecting with Brianna Schwartz And Alexis Schreiber and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Brianna and Alexis, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
Our connection to music has always been profound, and early on, we knew that working in the industry was our calling. Entertainment law provided the unique opportunity to combine our love for music with the practice of law, allowing us to contribute meaningfully to the creative world. We decided to create Schwartz & Schreiber because we noticed a disconnect in how attorneys and clients typically worked together. We wanted to offer more than just legal services—we aim to build deep, ongoing partnerships with our clients, and embed ourselves as part of their team. This approach has not only been rewarding for us but has also struck a chord with the clients we serve. So far, we’ve supported over 70 incredible clients, including GRAMMY-recognized artists, top-tier producers, songwriters, well-known labels, digital platforms, national festivals, and sync houses.
The following three guiding principles have shaped our firm from the very beginning:
First, we make it a priority to fully immerse ourselves in the world of our clients. Whether we’re listening to their latest projects, attending live performances, or flying out to festivals, we’re right there with them. By deeply understanding their ambitions and where they want to go, we’re better equipped to represent their interests. Authenticity is key—artists expect it from their partners, just as their fans expect it from them. We realized that being physically and emotionally connected to their journey was non-negotiable.
Second, we approach our role holistically. Instead of focusing narrowly on one-off legal issues, we see ourselves as trusted business partners, contributing to every aspect of their career decisions. Whether it’s advising on brand development, marketing strategies, or long-term business goals, we focus on the bigger picture. This comprehensive involvement enables us to be far more effective in advocating for them in negotiations and contracts.
Finally, we’re intentional about working with clients who are as dedicated to their craft as we are to supporting them. We hold ourselves to a high standard and expect the same from those we partner with. The most exciting and fulfilling part of our work comes from watching artists or businesses who are deeply invested in their growth and success reach new heights. We’re selective about who we work with because we believe in aligning with people who share that same level of passion and commitment.
Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
Starting and growing a business is always challenging, no matter the field or experience level. As young female entrepreneurs in a traditionally male-dominated space, we’ve had to constantly prove ourselves, and we’ve found that the best way to do that is by delivering results. It requires relentless effort—hours upon hours of hard work, tenacity, attention to detail in every contract, and unwavering commitment.
We feel incredibly fortunate to have earned the trust of our clients as they’ve allowed us to play a key role in shaping their careers and brands. But we’re far from finished. Our vision is to build something bigger than ourselves—a one-stop entertainment law firm known for delivering comprehensive legal services and trusted throughout the industry. Even though we’ve moved beyond those tough early years, we’re still working weekends, traveling nonstop for clients and events, and always hustling. The truth is, we wouldn’t have it any other way. Our clients are remarkable, and the work continues to inspire us.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Absolutely! We’ve been incredibly lucky to have had the guidance of some of the top professionals in the industry, and we owe much of our current success to their mentorship and encouragement. In particular, Leslie Zigel, who gave both of us our first opportunities as music attorneys and, along with his partner Javier Feito, has played a pivotal role in shaping our early careers and they continue to be wonderful mentors to us to this day. Harold Flegelman empowered us with the confidence and knowledge to take the leap and start our own firm, and Joe Serling has been a constant source of wisdom and support as we navigated the early stages of building Schwartz & Schreiber.
