We had the good fortune of connecting with Brianna and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Brianna, how has your perspective on work-life balance evolved over time?
My work life balance has changed over the last few years but I started to make more changes within this past year. I was more realistic about how many work hours i can complete in a week and how much time I would be able to dedicate to myself. With the addition of school i have to make sure I have time to study as well. Healthy eating is a pretty big deal for me so i have to make time to work, go to school , study and still have time for self care. It isn’t easy but it is possible ! When you are more intentional, set time, and plan for how you want your day to look it tends to be less chaotic.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I’ve always wanted to do what I love for a living. I am currently an educator and enjoy working with the youth but working toward something a little more near and dear to my heart. Lets just say the process took a couple of years and iv’e faced many obstacles in the process. I wanted to give up but, I didn’t want to be a quitter and just accepted the fact that it probably wasn’t the right time.

I want the world to know that when one door closes eventually another one opens. It might not be right away but as long as you keep trying an even better door will open up for you!

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
The first thing I would think of is food lol. Good food will aways be priority. Preferably a vegan place but I would say our favorite kind of food is thai. There is a thai restaraunt in manhattan called VIV on 9th avenue and its extremely affordable, so budget friendly is a plus! I’m not so much of a bar girl but I do like rooftops like “The ready rooftop” in manhattan New York as well as rooftops downtown Brooklyn. I also like visiting museums in manhattan. In the spring to summer months there is a weekly open-air food market in Brooklyn and Manhattan. Theres lots of different food and drink vendors to choose from. Last but not least we cant forget a trip to the spa. FUN includes food museum, rooftops with good music and winding down at the spa.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I started my health journey in 2019. I decided to research on herbal remedies. Joining her instagram lives and reading her book “Heal thyself” helped me gain another perspective on the many ways you can practice natural healing. Queen Afua’s programs aim to educate people about the healing power of food, self-care, and holistic health practices, and she has helped countless individuals to live healthier and more fulfilling lives.

Even though life can interfere with maintaining certain routines, learning about the impact that food has on your mind, body, and spirit is priceless
and transformative.
