Meet Brittany Aquart, PT, DPT, PCS | Founder and Executive Director, Lemon City Collective

We had the good fortune of connecting with Brittany Aquart, PT, DPT, PCS and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Brittany, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
I started Lemon City Collective in order to fill the gap in the existing system that leaves families without the support they need. We envision a world where all families have a “village,” and all children can access the best developmental support. We are building an inclusive future where everyone belongs, through providing excellent rehabilitative care, inclusion-centered activities for children with disabilities, and neurodiversity-affirming practices in Miami and beyond.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
Lemon City Collective is a mission-driven organization that is changing the healthcare landscape in Miami. We provide Physical and Occupational therapy, developmental classes, support groups, and resources for families and professionals. Our approach is different from others because we put the child at the center. We embrace differences and let children be fully themselves, while supporting them along the way. It isn’t always easy to be a trailblazer in your field. But the families we work with are all the evidence we need to know that we are making a positive impact. The children we work with thrive, and parents feel supported knowing we are on their team.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
One of the best things about our practice is that it’s located in Little River, my favorite part of Miami. There are tons of incredible restaurants like Uptown 66 Taqueria, Luna Pasta e Docli and Blue Collar. The neighborhood is bustling with people who love their community, and the environment around us is beautiful and historic.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I have to shout out my amazing husband, Andrew Aquart, who has gone above and beyond, supporting me and helping me every step of the way. He is an entrepreneur and Architect in his own right, and not only designed my therapy office, but has also spent countless hours there helping me get it ready to open its doors. I also want to acknowledge my Board Directors, especially Sara Phillips, Taylor Neverman and Melissa Knopp, who are currently serving as directors. And my astounding team, who makes this all possible. Allie Llaneras, Rachel Hearst, Jennifer Berrios, Megan Sanchez and Nicole Willis are the best of the best. I love getting to work with them and am so thankful for them!
