We had the good fortune of connecting with Brittany Arnold and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Brittany, what led you to pursuing a creative path professionally?

Well, I’ve always been creative. When I was in elementary school, I would write short stories and give them to all of my family members. From the jump, I knew I wouldn’t go into a “traditional” career path because I was meant to be artistic. I’ve always been passionate about writing/creating, so I knew majoring in a Communications path would be the best choice. After having the freedom to take classes like Creative Writing, 21st Century Media, and Art as Persuasion – I was sure that a career in Marketing would be the best choice for me. With over four years of experience so far, I know that I made the best decision.

Please tell us more about your work. We’d love to hear what sets you apart from others, what you are most proud of or excited about. How did you get to where you are today professionally. Was it easy? If not, how did you overcome the challenges? What are the lessons you’ve learned along the way. What do you want the world to know about you or your brand and story?

I’ve been in the Marketing field for a little over four years now. What I think truly sets me apart from others is being kind. I believe that being unkind negatively impacts your life, your career, your growth, and so much more. I consistently think about how you never completely know what someone is going through, and it drives me to spread kindness wherever I go. Whether I’m grabbing coffee in the morning or taking a walk in the park, I try to smile at everyone, ask how they’re doing, etc. Waking up every day and knowing that I can positively impact someone else excites me. I’m also extremely proud that I’ve inspired others to do the same.
I believe I got into this field at the perfect time. When I got hired at my first Social Media Marketing position, I was still in college. At the time, I ran my own blog so I was experienced in creating content but needed experience in the field to truly understand it. The first company I worked under saw my potential and took a chance on me. For that, I am extremely grateful, as I wouldn’t be where I am today. I’ve learned plenty of lessons along the way but my favorite lesson has been learning how to prioritize my time. During the week, I keep my planner within 10 feet of me and write down absolutely everything I need to remember day by day. On top of prioritizing my time while working, I’ve also learned how to take care of myself off-the-clock.
I believe that self-care is extremely important. I’ve had seasons of my life when I disregarded what I needed and was invested in working as hard as I can while putting myself on the back burner. I had to take a step back and realize that if I prioritized myself and didn’t let myself get to the stage where I was burnt out, my content would be much better. After finding the perfect balance between working hard and taking care of myself, I’m much happier and so glad I did. If you’re looking for a sign to start prioritizing yourself, here it is!

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?

For the perfect day, I’d first take them to Lingonberry Coffee, Bakery, & Cafe in Palm Beach Gardens for breakfast – they have the best bagels + their coffee is to die for. Then, we would head to Riverbend Park in Jupiter for some outdoor fun. With kayak/canoe rentals, bike rentals, and more, it’s the perfect spot to enjoy the Florida sunshine. Next, we would snorkel at the Blue Heron Bridge in Riviera Beach (and see the best wildlife!). Finally, we would travel south to enjoy the delicious food and nightlife in Delray Beach. With a ton of options to choose from, there’s something for everyone. One of my personal favorites in town is Ramen Lab (Get the vegan ramen + buffalo cauliflower!)
Some must-visit places in South Florida include Loggerhead Marinelife Center in Juno Beach (they focus on ocean and sea turtle conservation), Bailey’s Blendz in Boynton Beach (the best acai bowls), Morikami Museum & Japanese Gardens in Delray Beach, Jaxson’s Ice Cream Parlor in Dania Beach, and the Wynwood Walls in Miami.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?

I would love to give a shoutout to my family and closest friends. They have supported me since day one, and I genuinely could not do it without them. My mom was actually the first person to suggest that I go into Social Media Marketing and at first, I didn’t think I could make a living doing social media. But after I got the call that I got the job, I called her to tell her that she was, in fact, right (like moms usually are).

I would also like to give credit to one of my favorite high school teachers, Mr. Zucker. Through my Creative Writing and Literary Magazine classes, he truly taught me how to excel. As someone who has always had some form of Imposter Syndrome, he continued to show me that I was meant to write and I will forever be grateful for that.
