We had the good fortune of connecting with Brittany Dixon and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Brittany, where are your from? We’d love to hear about how your background has played a role in who you are today?
I grew up in a low income family in the small town of London, Ohio.
My background and upbringing impacted who I am today in numerous ways.
Moving out on my own when I was 18 was one of the biggest moments that shaped my life. I learned to be self-sufficient, resourceful and resilient.
I learned that if you work hard then you can reach your goals and have the things that you want in life.
I also knew from a young age that I wanted more. I saw other kids have nice clothes and shoes and go on vacation and I knew that there had to be a way to have that in my life. I knew that when I had a family, that my kids would have all kinds of amazing experiences.
What should our readers know about your business?
I am the CEO of Brittany & Co. Consulting. I am a Business Strategist & Productivity Coach for Online Service Providers expanding their team. We support with Time Management, Digital Organization, Creating Routines, Setting up Systems & Accountability.
What sets us apart is that we believe in a minimalist approach to business. Less tools, less softwares, less strategies, less offers and less digital clutter! We organize EVERYTHING from digital files, to strategies to emails with the BCO Method (Business Development, Client Services & Operations) and are all about simplicity in business. We also believe in looking at the business and personal side of an entrepreneur holistically. We do not want to just put bandaid fixes in place, we want to create sustainable solutions that are lasting.
So I actually became an accidental entrepreneur when I was fired from my event planning job at a corporate restaurant. I was let go because I was an out of the box thinker coming up with new ways to find sales and opportunities. The company was used to just doing things the way they had always done them.
When I started my business it was called Clutter Control and I wanted to help busy moms organize their homes to decrease stress and anxiety. I then hired a business coach who showed me that I could use my skills to help organize businesses to allow business owners to work less, while making a bigger impact and income. She was the guiding force to bringing my business into the online space.
I went through numerous transitions and pivots that were very challenging. When pivoting from organizing houses to organizing businesses there were lots of things I had to learn and time I had to spend running a business differently. When narrowing down my offers and ideal client I had to learn how to say no to people who were not a good fit. When bringing on team members I had to learn how to delegate more effectively. But through all of the challenges that I ran into, I always knew the bigger picture vision, mission and why. Knowing that is what kept me from quitting. I knew that I was doing this to give my kids a better future, I knew that I was doing this to provide financial stability for my family. I knew that I was doing this because I could impact others lives and all of those things, kept me going when it got hard.
I am currently most excited about the growth and change that I am going through as a person, that will translate into growth and change for the business.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
One of the pivotal books in my life was “Ordinary Superpowers” – By Mark Hanson. Until reading that book, I never knew that my ordinary superpower could help me to create a business and financial freedom in my life. After reading the book I realized that the things that came easy to me to do (organizing & planning) didn’t come naturally to all.
Other influences in my life were Dana Malstaff with Boss Mom. She was the first coach that showed me that I could create a successful business even while having twin girls at home.
Nellie Corriveau – For being the coach that pushed me into uncovering the trauma and personal growth milestones I need to expand myself and my business.
