We had the good fortune of connecting with Brittney Coke and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Brittney, what do you attribute your success to?
I would not say there was or is a single important factor behind my success and the success of my brand. There were actually several important factors which includes but is not limited to: Discipline, Drive, Determination, Dedication, Ambition, and Motivation to name a few. The support of my immediate and extended family has been extremely vital. Aside from self motivation, my children and my family keeps me going and keeps me grounded. 

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
In the professional world I wear many hats. I am an Entrepreneur, Human Resource Professional, and an Educator. I am also a former Juvenile Probation Officer. What sets me apart from others is not limiting myself or placing myself in a box. I am most proud of being a Black Woman who shows up and shows out every single time in every aspect of my life. I am excited about my personal and professional growth. I got to where I am today with consistency and confidence in myself and my many talents. It was definitely not easy. There has been many closed doors, I’ve been shut out of having room at the table but I’ve managed to build my own door and make my own table. Opportunities doesn’t always come knocking on my door so I make it a point of duty to create my own opportunities. I’ve definitely learned a lot of lessons along the way. I’ve learned to be humble and to stay true to myself and my goals. I’ve learned to always have a plan. The plan may change every now and then but the end goal remains the same. I want the world to know that I am innovatice, authentic, creative, relatable, and diverse in all that I do. I’m walking in my purpose every day. Classify Beauty was originally a blog created by myself. I am a all around style, fashion, and beauty lover. Fashion, style, and beauty is a way for me to express myself in a artistic manner. Classify Beauty’s Blog is dedicated to bringing any and everything beauty to your fingertips. The latest fashion, hair, and makeup trends along with my personal style are highlighted on a regular basis. It is designed to empower women (like myself) of diversity who are classy, confident, and comfortable in their own skin; women who inspire others, and women who are beautiful inside and out.​Since I got started as a blogger back in 2017, I have found such a sense of fulfillment in my own life. I was selected as an official delegate for the 2019 Miss Florida USA pageant. I am the Ms. Treasure Coast Title holder and I competed in the Ms. Florida pageant. Most recently I was selected to compete in the Ms. World Pageant as the Ms. Petite Florida contestant.​I have collaborated with a host of style influencers, bloggers, and brands along my journey.​Classify Beauty has since experienced a huge growth. It has developed into a brand as I celebrate the launch of Classify Beauty Lab (offering hairstyling, makeup application, and fashion styling services), Classify Beauty Crown (a collection of custom wig units), Classify Beauty Merch (Brand Merchandise), and (Classify Beauty Closet) with its first official shoe collection and a cosmetic line (Classify Beauty Cosmetics) in the near future. This growth has been well overdue as I share my talents, passion, and insight with the world.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
If my best friend was in town I would take her to Downtown. It is filled with lots of entertainment, restaurants, lounges, and of course the beach. It is pretty much an all you can do in one area without commuting to different chill spots. I live in a small city. There is not much to do but there is enough entertainment to go around for someone like me who is a home body.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
The efforts, support, mentorship, love, and encouragement of my immediate and extended family as I mentioned earlier has been extremely importany. My children and my family (my mom, my dad, my sister, my husband, and my in laws) keeps me going and keeps me motivated. They are my added reasons. They are always encouraging me every step of the way. I am blessed to have an amazing support system.
