We had the good fortune of connecting with Bryan Jimenez and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Bryan, we’d love to hear about how you approach risk and risk-taking
I believe RISK is a big factor in my career. I’ve taken on a big risk already by wanting to be an actor. I was going to school to be an X-ray tech and dropped out because I wanted to chase my passion which is Acting. I have lost good jobs, dropped out of college and lost friends and relationships along the way because I am willing to risk it all for this dream I have. This career is not ordinary, it’s not promising and it has a lot of ups and downs. You can easily move to LA take on your acting classes, pay for your headshots, work on your demo reels and attend every audition and still might not make it to be a big star.
Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
Well, it wasn’t easy getting to where I am now, I still have a lot more to go. There was times I felt discouraged and gave up for two years and something always pulled me back in to keep on chasing that dream and never give up. What sets me aside from others is my willingness to work on my craft everyday and willing to do anything for it. I also feel what sets me aside from others is how I am always willing to help other Actors not fall into scams and try and lead them in the right direction. I am proud of what I have been able to accomplish so far, I’ve been in commercials, movies, tv series and lots of music videos. But my biggest goal yet is to be the main Actor in a blockbuster movie or Tv series. To get to where I am, it hasn’t been easy at all, I’ve lost friendships that I thought will last forever, I have lost girlfriends that I thought were supporting me all the way and weren’t and I have lost opportunities at jobs that I know I would’ve excelled and made good money. I have also dropped out of college which was a big deal for me because now I don’t have anything to fall back on. But that’s ok because when you have something to fall back on you end up not giving your dream 100 percent because “you have something to fall back on” and since I don’t have that it just means I have to give it my all and make it by all means necessary. I’ve learned throughout this journey that I am still on, that not everything last forever, not friends, not girlfriends and not life. So with that being said you always have to live life to the fullest and treat people with love because tmw is not promised and you can be here today and gone tmw. I want people to just look at me and get inspired to wanna chase their dream, because anything is possible. I’ve been through a lot in life and still going through stuff and I am still here striving to make this dream a reality and if I can do that anybody can do it too!
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I will take them to south beach so they can enjoy the water, maybe rent some jet skis and walk down ocean drive during the day. Later on at night I will take them to Wynwood so they can enjoy some good music and drinks at the local bars especially (Dirty Rabbit). I will take them to a Miami Heat game so they can see the love we have for our team and the way we go all out for them. I might just take them to Calle 8 so they can enjoy some Cuban style food, music and mojitos.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I would say I would like to give this shoutout to my mother who has been through all my ups and downs. She worked day and night to help me pay for acting classes when I was younger, she would get more nervous than I will every time I will go to auditions and she has been the only one there when I’ve gone through so many times of me being discouraged and wanting to give up on acting. She would always tell me just to keep going and never give up and don’t stop till you have made it, you have nothing to lose.
