Meet Byambatsetseg Jigdengombo | Circus Performer, Instructor, & Co-Founder of Cirque Art Studio

We had the good fortune of connecting with Byambatsetseg Jigdengombo and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Byambatsetseg, we’d love for you to start things off by telling us something about your industry that we and others not in the industry might be unaware of?
Most outsiders think that they must start young to benefit from circus training; they believe that circus schools are only for young people looking to become professional performers. While we (Konstantin and I) both started training at age 5 and became world-renowned professional performers, we created Cirque Art Studio to train ANYONE at any age willing to learn something new. So whether you are looking for a fun way to get fit and flexible or want to pursue a professional circus career, Cirque Art Studio can help you achieve your goals. We want to empower everyone to uncover their inner circus artist.
Cirque Art Studio is proud to be a circus school that merges traditional and modern circus forms by offering classes in juggling, tumbling, hand balancing, Contortion, Silks, Lyra, Trapeze, and more. We are entirely beginner-friendly for children and adults. We also customize our teaching to fit each student to feel confident learning new, intimidating skills and achieve their goals. We demystify all forms of circus arts and strive to create a new generation of multi-talented circus students.
Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
While aerial studios have now become a growing trend in fitness, I co-founded Cirque Art Studio out of my lifelong love, dedication, and passion for circus arts. My dedication and passion truly set my classes apart from other studios; even in a group class setting, I make sure that each student gets personalized attention. I understand that one technique or style does not fit all, and so I strive to give every student techniques that work for them individually.
Becoming a circus school owner is not easy. It takes time, dedication, and discipline. More importantly it takes high quality teaching. My husband and I have dedicated decades to improving our techniques and the way we teach. While it is challenging to grow an established circus program in a city as transient as Miami, we persevered because we are passionate. We are proud to say that every student that stayed with us has accomplished amazing goals, from better flexibility to becoming a national Aerial Olympian.
The biggest lesson we learned is to stay true to our craft and lead our business with our hearts first. Students stay with us because they see our passion and dedication to their progress in all forms of circus. We look at every student as a unique artist first, not another enrollment number. We aim to be the heart of the circus; that is our brand and the story we want the world to know.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
There are so many great places to eat, drink and hang out in Miami. For a week-long stay in Miami, I would recommend staying in Bal Harbour. It is a beautiful area with plenty to do, from shopping to enjoying the beach. The main road, Collins Avenue, runs all the way down to South Beach, which makes traveling back and forth very convenient.
One of our favorite restaurants is Basilic, which offers Vietnamese cuisine. Miami has so many great cuisines, such as Cuban, Italian, Argentinian and Thai.
For entertainment, Miami has some of the best venues in the country. The Miami Arts Center, American Airlines Arena, Adrianne Arsht Center, and Olympia Theater are a few venues that offer spectacular shows and events. They are also places where I have performed circus acts in front of thousands.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I want to dedicate my shoutout to my husband and Co-Founder, Konstantin Serov
