We had the good fortune of connecting with Camille De Armas and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Camille, is your business focused on helping the community? If so, how?
I serve families and sentimental moms like me. My goal is for each moms to have beautiful memories of themselves with their babies. Whether it be this fleeting newborn time, or while they are expecting their 2nd, 3rd baby, I want to document their family at a certain point in their life. Babies grow so fast, and in the blink of an eye your newborn baby is a babbling-walking toddler! Photography helps freeze time so you never forget the feeling when looking at your images years later.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I became a motherhood photographer shortly after my son was born. Being a mother has always been a dream of mine. I had this strong desire to preserve every little details of him, other than with my phone. In other words, he’s the reason why I started this photography journey. The ringlet curls, the chubby cheeks and chunky toes, the thigh rolls, that soft skin… I wanted to remember it all forever! And that’s how I decided I wanted to specialize in photographing mothers and their babies. I love to capture all the little details mothers can’t get enough of. The bond, love and connection between them.

I have a refined, timeless, light and airy style and that’s something my clients love about my photography. It shows and represents that softness a baby brings into your life. Photos that won’t go out of style, and that families will cherish forever.

I have worked hard to be where I am today, and I still have long way to go! But overall, I stayed focus on my goals and kept working towards my dreams. Never give up. It wasn’t easy but when it felt hard, I took a few days off work to clear my mind and think how I could fix where I was struggling at.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
One of my favorite places to eat there is the Rusty Pelican in Key Biscayne. There’s a beautiful view on the bay, elegant waterfront and view on Downtown Miami. Perfect place to sip a Margarita while watching the sunset!

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
My son, Liam, is the reason why I started this business. It made me grow as a person and understand what I wanted in life. Before having him, I still had no idea what to do with my life! My husband has helped me bring my business to life and has always supported me.
