We had the good fortune of connecting with Camille Perkins and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Camille, maybe we can start at the very start – the idea – how did you come up with the idea for your business?
I love Miami and all that it has to offer! I have also been very intrigued by the dating scene in Miami. Putting these together, my Join Me in Miami Blog and The VIP Singles Club was born and later Miami Date Nite.

For the last few years, I have been sharing Miami date night ideas via my Instagram account: miamidatenite. I have also connected many Miami singles, via my company, The VIP Singles Club. This past year, I saw an increase in singles requesting to be matched with other singles as well as requests to host singles events again.
Due to everything happening with COVID-19, I was not comfortable with hosting singles events, but I kept brainstorming on ways to still bring singles together. One day, out of nowhere, I got the thought – why not do a podcast show connecting and matching singles together?
I was super excited about the concept because it is fun and no one else is doing anything similar right now. After doing some market research, the feedback was very positive and that was how The Miami Date Nite Podcast was born!
As an extension of my brand, I have also started a Miami Date Nite YouTube Channel. My YouTube Channel is a guide for both locals and visitors to discover fun things to do in Miami, hidden gems, walking and apartment tours and much more! See links below.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?

I was born and raised in Montserrat and I am also half-Jamaican and now living in Miami Beach. I have always had an entrepreneurial spirit and feel the most alive when I am creating content. As a child, I was always fascinated with the digital space and I love the freedom that is possible with a digital business.
In 2016, I started my blog, Join Me in Miami for fun, just to share the cool things to do in and around the Miami area and was originally camille.miami on Instagram. Later, I decided to combine my love for Miami, and my curiosity for the Miami dating scene. This resulted in the VIP Singles Club, and later Miami Date Nite.
You can find Miami Date Nite in different content formats on several platforms. Presently, the main platforms are Instagram, YouTube and as a Podcast on various directories. The links are below.
The concept of the podcast is new and unique. Each week, I feature Miami and South Florida Bachelors and Bachelorettes. We talk about Miami, the dating scene, what type of partner they are seeking and other topics that come up organically in the conversation. Listeners have the unique opportunity to apply via a link, to go out on a date with one of my Bachelors and Bachelorettes.
My podcast is available on Apple, Spotify, Google Podcasts, iHeartRadio, Stitcher, Amazon, Pandora, Overcast, and TuneIn. I am thrilled to be offering a new way for Miami singles to meet other singles!
I am also very excited to share my love for Miami and dating via my new YouTube channel, Miami Date Nite. I’ll cover everything from top restaurants, hidden gems, dating in Miami, walking and apartment tours, just to name a few.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
There are so many places I would want to take them! I live in Miami Beach, so I would start in Miami Beach, but take them to the less touristy North Beach to enjoy a beach day.

Later, we would head down to South Beach to check out the Art Deco District and explore more of Ocean Drive.
Other stops would include: Joe’s Stone Crab, Yardbird, Lincoln Road, South Pointe Park, Espanola Way, concert at New World Center
Wynwood: The Salty Donut, Panther Coffee, Wynwood Walls, Kyu
Downtown Miami / Brickell / Midtown: Perez Art Museum, Phillip and Patricia Frost Museum of Science, Area 31, River Oyster Bar, B Bistro + Bakery, Sugar, All Day, Cantina La Veinte, Lagniappe
Design District: Institute of Contemporary Art, Mrs. Mandolin, St. Roch Market, Museum Garage

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I would like to thank my parents and siblings for being my strongest supporters and believing in me. A special thanks to my relatives, friends, followers, readers and listeners. I am very thankful for everyone that has contributed to who I am today!
