Meet Carina Belmonte | Personal Branding Coach & Creative Entrepreneur

We had the good fortune of connecting with Carina Belmonte and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Carina, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
I started my journey as a production assistant for CNN and Univision (while still living in Venezuela), which helped me learn about video editing and video production
After finishing college, I moved to Miami and worked as a video producer for media agencies, entrepreneurs, and influencers. Video production has always been one of my passions, and it comes easy for me, but as time passed, I wanted to do something different. That is how I decided to share my story. That decision helped me to invest in myself to learn how to build a solid personal brand.
After two years, I decided to transition into coaching and help creative entrepreneurs who feel stuck with their personal brand by guiding them to build their brand with purpose and strategy. Why? Because when you understand your purpose, people know what you stand for.
The reason I wanted to grow as a personal branding coach was because I believed I could offer a different perspective from what I have seen on Instagram and Youtube in my same niche.
I believe it all begins with your MINDSET, why? Because if you don’t understand who you are how will you be able to help others?

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
1. I’m proud of the pivot I did from Video producer to personal branding coach. It has allowed me to help creative entrepreneurs in their journey and understand the value of building their brand with purpose and strategy.
2. I have been in the production and creative scene since my 21 years of age; I’m now 35. I went from being a production assistant to correspondent offices of 2 major news channels, worked for media lifestyle agencies and entrepreneurs. That experience gave me the push to focus on personal brand coaching.
3. One of my biggest challenges was believing in myself. I was always behind the camera, afraid of what other people would say about me. Thanks to working on myself, investing in the next step of my professional career, and having an outstanding family and partner that helped me grow as a professional and human.
4. Lessons: Starting it’s only the begging. Believing in yourself and being self-aware of who you are is essential for your success, being kind with your journey is necessary, and don’t expect to be 100% every day.
5. I learned the value of personal branding by doing and understood that being confident is not something you wish for is something you work towards to. I’m a video producer turned into a personal branding coach because I understood the value of sharing your STORY.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Ok, let’s see :
Monday I would take them to South Point Park in the afternoon around 5-6 to see the cruises pass by, see the sunset, which is so gorgeous, and have a coffee or prosecco depending on the mood in this small Italian place: Prima Classe.
Tuesday: If we are in the mood to go to Brickell, I will take them for some dinner and drinks at Casa Tua. Check out Brickell City Center as well. I prefer to go on this day due to the traffic on Brickell.
Wednesday: To do something different and, depending on the mood as always, we will have some lunch at Milos (SOBE) and then go to Design District so we can have some coffee, take some pictures, and maybe go to Wynwood to visit the walls.
Thursday: We love doing friends gathering in our house. My husband is an excellent cook, so we love hosting friends’ dinners.
Friday: I Will go with the flow and see what we can do.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Wow, there are so many people that come to mind, but if I need to choose only one, my MOM. It may sound obvious but she is a cancer survivor, a wonderful mom, a creative, and a talented cook. Check her account @lacocinademariela
