We had the good fortune of connecting with Carlo Camargo and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Carlo, what’s the most important lesson your business/career has taught you?
The most important lesson my career has taught me is confidence is everything. Confidence has been the key factor in doing business as a freelancer because throughout my trade of services. I was doing my own studies and these studies were definitely challenging, more so than what school challenges you on in the curriculum. The very lesson in a nutshell is bring it and own it. Challenge the field with new ideas because you learn everyday. The confidence I have gained from my own research allowed the right momentum I needed to have a pre-programmed practice in advertising.
What should our readers know about your business?
Experience Was Cool Way Before Digital Est. 1991 LLC was built on a foundation. It took me 2 years of studies, research, and asking questions around Miami to fully understand what exactly an experience is, what brands need, and what the consumer wants. We’re talking of 365 days times 2 of understanding things with one idea. I believe what sets me apart is since day one, I didn’t compete with others, I focused on myself. I wanted to put Experience vs Digital on a scale and wanted to always have the right weight for my client. 730 days later. I llc’d the whole studied idea. It was not easy. There were many regular day challenges and I took the time to understand my idea no matter what. Lastly, one thing I want the world to know about Experience was cool, is that we’re so knowledgeable that we are more valuable with knowledge than what we will produce together. My thinking is spaced out for a minimum of a 25+ year campaign. We are out here to take things long-term. So if you have a short-term project. Prepare. It will be intense.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
This question is fun. I would take the bestie on local trip. I’m pretty local so it will be a total trip around the heart of Miami. I’m a pretty active guy so for sure I would get a Monday to Sunday itinerary. Monday would be a walk to Bayfront Park starting at Little Havana and then back to Little Havana. On Monday night we hit some fine Little Havana dining. Tuesday would be a Brickell lunch, then a movie in City Centre. Wednesday would be a visit to watch the Heat play in the FTX Arena. Thursday looks like a trip to City Place Doral. Friday could look like a taco around Miami and I’m talking about all the places talking tacos in Miami and the beach. Saturday would look like a hang out at the basketball court and then a family dinner later in the day. Sunday may look like a Miami Beach breakfast, a brisk walk, and then a warm goodbye. Gotta love this sunny itinerary.
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
Of course, I’d like to thank my family for all the support I received. I’m kinda of a first generation advertising major and the learning process they went through to understand what exactly I’m doing has been champion. Additionally, I would also like to thank Albedriocollection.com for always believing in me by passing projects to me so I can practice copywriting manifestos. And last but not least I would like to thank Udi Umondak for letting me provide counsel in his non-profit called Fit Church. I’ve been practicing advertising with Fit Church for 9-months now and within those 9-months. We gave out food to the homeless on Thanksgiving 2021. That’s my bunch!
