We had the good fortune of connecting with Caroline Green and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Caroline, we’d love to hear about how you approach risk and risk-taking
I think risk is an essential component to successfully get where or what you want out of life. The most famous quote by one of the greats, Thomas Jefferson, he says “With great risk comes great reward.” You will have significant wins along the way, but there will also be struggles. The struggles are where you really learn from. Thinking about this, I know I would not have accomplished such confidence and continued growth in my own personal development. Which translates directly to my approach in relationships, career and overall wellbeing.

Risk has played an exponential role to where I am today. I was born and raised on Long Island, NY with an unwavering desire to get out one day and travel. I grew up with a very close knit family of people who were born, raised, and never left. My house was the one everyone would flock to. Whether it was friends, family, friends of family, holidays, parties, sleepovers, and weekend hangouts, everyone always either started or ended there or both.

You can imagine how heartbreaking it was for my parents to learn that at the ripe, young age of 22 I had made a decision to move across the country, alone, and start from scratch. No friends, no family, no job just me myself and I with a little bit of money saved up to a place where everyone knew you could be swallowed up whole if you didn’t have a good head on your shoulders. Why would anyone want to leave such a comfortable, nurturing, fortunate little bubble? Well for me, it was because I knew if I wanted more than just everything I had been handed, I had to challenge myself. I wanted to take the risk, knowing if I didn’t make it I always had a home to come back to, but if I never tried I would never know just how far I could go.

What should our readers know about your business?
So, after my calling to move away in 2014, fast forward to 2019 and now it all made just the most perfect amount of sense. Established great friendships with people I now consider an extension of my family, worked my way up in career to a very well-known, premier celebrity catering company throwing the most exclusive, extravagant parties/events, met and found the love of my life who had traveled all the way from Egypt in pursuit of the same aspirations I had. Life is grand!

As risk and reward will have it, we were also hit with one of life’s many challenges. At this point, it was time for another change. The benefit from my previous risk-taker accolades was that now I wouldn’t have to do it alone. My partner and I decided to pack up our life, and head back East but this time down South. By Southeast, I mean Florida and not just any old city in Florida, but the burgeoning Fort Lauderdale. We refer to it here as the boutique Miami. You can basically get all of the same things for a fraction of the headache with only a 30 minute drive or Brightline ride if you really want to get in on the action.

Anyways, I was appointed the idea back then of getting into Real Estate by my now Father-In-law. One thing for me that stands to be true is if you’re willing to take the risk, your manifestation will transpire you to meet the right acquaintances, to lead you exactly where you want to be. It’s not going to be easy, because anything that’s worth it never is but it will be rewarding.

I’ve overcome the challenges from the lessons I’ve learned through all of this. If you say or want to do something, you have to commit. With a prior background in Hospitality, I found great success in my first 2 years of Real Estate. It’s a servicing industry and we are there to offer expertise, market and transactional knowledge. Ultimately, I was blessed with a hot market which expedited my affiliation on one of the highest producing teams recognized in the Top 2% of Real Estate agents throughout the country.

My brand story is I don’t stop until I get it right. Whether it’s Real Estate, career, business, standards, personal, relationships, love, life or leaving something good to go find something better. My life motto is know your worth, trust your instincts and never settle for less than what you deserve.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I have a bunch of different spots throughout the city all depending upon my mood. Sparrow is my favorite rooftop for Happy Hour to oversee the city landscape. Of course, there are some signature places that are a must-see for any visitors I have in town. We’re definitely going out to eat for some good Italian so first stop is either Louie Bossi’s on Las Olas Blvd (main street Fort Lauderdale) for handmade pasta’s and pizzas and delicious craft cocktails. The vibe there is always and never a dull moment. But there’s also Capriccio’s Ristorante for a more old school classic Italian menu with white table cloths, a live pianist, amazing wine and sauces to die for, so visitor’s choice. Later we can get hit the Hardrock Casino (shaped like a guitar and lights up) for some fun and a little gambling.

Day 2 we’ll head to Hugh Taylor Birch State park which is nestled between the Intracoastal and the ocean. I like to grab a Froze at the Park and Ocean, the restaurant/bar before crossing over the A1A to lay on the ocean. After we’ve had enough sun we can walk over to the water taxi pickup on the intracoastal side (which comes every 30 minutes) and take a ride to Shooter’s for some happy hour cocktails and small bites. The taxi stops at multiple different locations so this could be just the beginning. Dinner at El Camino for a full tequila menu and some crafty Mexican dishes.

Day 3 we’ll take out the jet ski to the Fort Lauderdale Sandbar where a bunch of skis/boats anchor out and chill. There’s a little tiki boat bar that pulls up as well as a Restaurant boat for sandwiches and gyros that you can get delivered right to you. Later on, we’ll head over to Whiskey Creek which is a little canal you can pull your boat right up to and hang. If you feel like jumping in the ocean you just walk-through to the other side and take a dip. By dusk, we’ll take the skis and pull up to our favorite waterfront restaurant, Coconuts. Must try there is the infamous scooby snacks (crab claws sauteed in peppery, garlic butter). Later on we can hit the Wharf a sprawling outside venue with music, games, food trucks, events and 5 bars.

Day 4 take a day trip into Miami/Wynwood and check out the amazing street art, shops, boutiques and dinner at Kiki’s.

Day 5 We’re going over to my Beachfront condo on Marco Island to end the trip with a little R&R on the Gulf. Once we get down to the beach we can walk over to Quinn’s to get some food and drinks.

Day 6 Beach, pool, and Thai Sushi by KJ

Day 7 Drive back to the east coast, stop at the Aventura mall for some shopping before the airport.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
It might sound cliché, but when I first was introduced to the book “The Secret” by Rhonda Byrne, around the age of 16, it really opened up my mind to the subconscious and how truly powerful it is in shaping our world. “What we think, we become.”

Being born a female Pisces it came very natural to me, this idea of manifestation, further aligning with my already very visual, day-dreamy thoughts built of spontaneity and romanticizing everyday life. If there is anything more to know about Pisces beings it is that we are highly intuitive and spend a great deal of time in our made up underworld.

Another support system I give great homage to is a therapist I was coincidentally introduced to during a very dark period at one of the most pivotal stages of young adulthood. Although, I will keep her name private, she deserves a special shoutout for re-igniting the fire in me to take back my willpower and instill the choice can, has and always will be mine. I wanted to change my current circumstances and she helped me recognize I had the ability to do it. As weak and powerless as I once felt she encouraged me to go after my dreams because she knew I could. And I felt that.
