We had the good fortune of connecting with Cast “Casthra” Demosthene and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Cast “Casthra”, can you tell us more about your background and the role it’s played in shaping who you are today?

I was born in Haiti and my family migrated to America when I was only 6 years old. They settled in South Florida, and most of my childhood took place in Miami. It was a rollercoaster of emotions, new country, new language, new people and food. This sudden and unexpected change in my environment impacted my upbringing in a way that would shape the woman I would become and the career I would pursue.
I went from being an energetic introverted child to simply an introvert, it looks years for me to build the confidence to use my voice and express myself. The moment I found my voice, I was able to use everything, every little moment and every barrier I faced to tell my story. Bridging my background and my upbringing together allowed me to flourish in the tech industry, and as a content creator.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
I have the luxury of having my own business and the ride to that was anything but luxurious. If you ask other’s about me, most would define me as one of their favorite web developer. I’ve built over a dozen websites just in 2021 but not only am I everyone’s favorite developer I’m also a content creator. In just 2 years I’ve grown and monetized 3 YouTube channels and helped other’s monetized their content online. The ability to help others tap into their creativity whether it’s via building them a website or teaching them how to monetize their content, is what I’m most proud of. It took many years of not knowing what I wanted to do in order to get to this point. I went to college 3 different times, business management, baking and pastry management and web development before finding myself in love with the world of tech.
A lot of people may think wow, this sounds so easy but there were so many challenges then I had to overcome. I went from sleeping on a hard wood floor with two children, not knowing where my next meal was coming from to monetizing 3 YouTube channels, building a network of happy customers, and writing my first ebook on how I maximized my life in a year.
When it comes to my story and brand, I want the world to know that this is also what resilience looks like. This is what it looks like when no matter how hard it is, how little you have, you can make it through by taking one step at a time forward.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
This is a fun question because one of the coolest individuals I’ve met in 2021 and built an amazing friendship with, Kel Smith is coming to visit soon. So, I always recommend starting off with brunch because it’s my favorite and my go to spot in Miami is Root & Bone for their delicious smoky bacon board. Followed by the Museum of Illusions or any other museum they are into, after a big brunch I like to relax admire art, walk and small talk. He’s really into steak so after the museum for dinner, I’ll have to take him to Ole Ole Steak House, my brothers rave about this place. The following day we are checking out my number one spot for Haitian Caribbean food, Chef Creole for some griot and oxtail. Followed by exploring The Wynwood Arts District and the next couple of days we would relax and party in South Beach.
After 3 days of eating good and having fun in Miami, we are driving to Orlando, Fl and spending the remaining time at Universal Studios, Islands of Adventure and City Walk. I love theme parks especially the Harry Potter section, so what better way to end a week in Florida than the theme parks. Followed by weekend brunch at Another Broken Eggs Cafe, a quick visit to the Orlando Science Center before waving good bye to my friend as he boards his flight back home safely.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
Yes, I want to give a shoutout to my brothers, Ed, Don and Ronney. They are one of the main pillars that contributes to holding the foundation that my success is built on. They’ve had my back during my darkest time with no judgement, and they have supported me throughout my journey financially, emotionally and mentally. Till this day they continue to be my number one cheerleaders, loudest advocate, favorite advisors and investors.
